The University of Michigan basketball program announced the finalized 2011-12 basketball schedule this afternoon. Two thirds of the schedule (non-conference and ESPN/CBS conference games) had been previously released but now the final third, conference games televised by the Big Ten Network, has been unveiled.

Michigan’s non-conference slate features a trip to Maui and games against Iowa State, Virginia and Arkansas. The Wolverines open play in the Maui Invitational against Memphis before facing either Duke or Tennessee in the second round. The Maui Invitational also features Kansas, UCLA, Georgetown and Chaminade and you can find the complete bracket here.

Michigan will play 11 Big Ten games on ESPN or CBS and open the Big Ten season against Penn State at home on December 29th. The Wolverines will play just one game against Minnesota (home), Wisconsin (home), Iowa (away) and Nebraska (away) while facing every other Big Ten team twice. ESPN will also bring their College GameDay set to Ann Arbor for the Wolverines’ home game against Ohio State on February 18th.

You can find the complete 2011-12 schedule after the jump.

Wow that’s a genuine disgrace. Good catch.

Yeah, I saw that. The funny thing is, they’ve now taken it down. I don’t know if I missed it, but I looked around on the UM sports page, and didn’t see any article relate d to the schedule being released at all. So rather than credit Dylan, or write their own release, they just took it down completely.

How freaking lazy is that!? The MSM never ceases to amaze me.

Wayne State exhibition and Ferris State regular season?

It would be more interesting to play EMU, CMU or Detroit. Don’t see reason to schedule Div II team for regular season.

Division 2 games don’t count toward the RPI, so in some ways they are better for the RPI than bottom 100 teams.

I hope they still do a BTN student production for the btn.com exhibition. Those are amazing.

yeah, hopefully they can get that kid to come back and drop another f bomb.  he was sweet.

My prediction for the record is 21-10  (Pre Big-Ten Tourney) . My initial pure feeling-based prediction was 24-7 but for some reason I thought that felt a little too homerish.

Probably sounds about right at 21, maybe 22.  Alot will depend on howTrey Burke plays.

  • Sven187

    31-0

None of the first four games being on television is a downside, hate paying for games on BTN.com. Also Dylan this might be wrong, but on Mgoblue.com they have the Virginia game as Tue. Nov 29th.

This hype video should be required watching for everyone on this site.
