Lets get a rebound good God they have nobody over 6’7 c’mon

  • devdawg

put wilson in..at least he boxes out

  • Hail Blue

Thats it, just keep driving and get to the line

  • Justin Harbin

Levert is no Stausky that is for sure

  • countourzealous

We have 0 fast break points? How is that possible with this team? An entire game of half-court offense is seriously unusual.

    • Chris De Sana

Have to rebound to have fast breaks

    • Madrox

I don’t agree with how they count the numbers. Walton pulled down a board, sprinted the length of the floor for a lay-in. If that’s not fast break I don’t know what is. But still not enough

  • jemblue

Gotta capitalize at the stripe. We’ve left too many points there.

    • Madrox

70% so far, not great but not terrible. The defensive glass is what has killed Michigan tonight

  • Burke_Does_Work

Certain guys can’t box out for their life. Watch Oregon’s next FT attempt, they are beating our guys to the loose ball every time.

  • Wayman Britt

Need to hit FT now to salt away this game.

  • HAIL

I don’t like the way this game is feeling but hopefully I am wrong

    • devdawg

we give away this many free points, it becomes tough to win. we have no confidence on the defensive end

  • Adam St Patrick

Am totally sick of being owned on the glass. Beilein’s system would be insane with a serious 5 in there.

    • Wayman Britt

It’s not all on the five, others are not blocking out.

  • MGoTweeter

this game reminds me a lot of charlotte lat year. just getting out worked by a team with less talent

    • HAIL

Oregon is a little better than Charlotte though

  • Justin Harbin

    Just getting outworked

  • Madrox

Blah, bad bounces and a bad foul by Doyle

  • Burke_Does_Work

    YES CARIS YOU FINALLY FINISHED!!

    • Madrox

You are so far ahead of me, but as long as you bring good news I am OK with it.

      • Burke_Does_Work

        lol, happy to help

    • Chris De Sana

Exactly you are wayyyyy ahead of the feed

      • Burke_Does_Work

Funny thing is I’m streaming it as well

  • countourzealous

    Wow what a finish!

  • Wayman Britt

Just keep taking it to the hole.

  • Madrox

Is it mean that I don’t care that the guy is hurt in the process of it, that was a travel?

    • kam

      kinda yeah

      • Madrox

Fair enough, I don’t want the guy to be hurt, but I do want the walk called

  • jemblue

I hate when they replay injuries a bunch of times. I don’t really want to see that multiple times.

  • devdawg

    ouch

  • Madrox

Bad all refs, bad call. Young was way out of control

  • jemblue

    arrgh, can’t put them away.

  • Richmond_Eric

    how about getting Zak shot?

    • Madrox

I’ll take any basket right now, I don’t care who scores it

      • Richmond_Eric

        That’s what I;m talking about!

    • Madrox

      Well that works

  • jemblue

    Good timeout. We looked flustered.

  • countourzealous

This Oregon team has faced so much attrition, I can’t help but root for them after this game.

  • Hail Blue

This dude doesnt miss from the FT line

  • Justin Harbin

Brooks kid is annoying sit down

  • Madrox

Alright guys, make these FT’s now

  • Burke_Does_Work

    I officially love you RIcky

  • Justin Harbin

    Ricky

  • countourzealous

Great play by Doyle to seal the game.

  • Madrox

    DOYLE RULES

  • Justin Harbin

    Got em

  • Wayman Britt

    Love the Ricky chant

  • Burke_Does_Work

AND THATS ALL SHE WROTE! Good win UM, go blue!

    • Madrox

Yay, more good news before I see it, thanks BDW

      • Burke_Does_Work

Haha, no problem! I was considering doing something like “Omg, how did we lose that game!” but I didn’t want to cause any heart attacks

        • Madrox

Haha, I would have found you and injured you if you did that

  • Hail Blue

Good win against a solid team

  • Justin Harbin

Good win gotta get ready for Nova tomorrow night

  • countourzealous

GG Bring it, ‘Nova! Props to Oregon, that’s a great team considering they lost ten players from the last year. Great job by their coaching staff and they play hard. I think they’ll be a force in the Pac-12.

    • Richmond_Eric

Oregon is really impressive given the roster turnover. Howwhere does a coach find high caliber players at a moments notice?

      • countourzealous

It sucks to see one of their better players, Benjamin, go down with what looked like a pretty bad ankle sprain. I wouldn’t be the least bit surprised to see Young do well in the NBA, either. He kind of has an Iverson-type game.

      • Alex

They said during the broadcast they were picked eight although when you have basically an entirely new team it’s probably hard to predict what will occur. Very nice win and we’ll see how Oregon fares going forward. We’ll learn some more tomorrow but I’m proud of the team for winning this game by driving and making their free throws. Sometimes the three isn’t there so drive and see what happens.

I hope that player is ok I never like to see injuries especially those ones that were completely inadvertent and unwarranted. Rest up and congrats to Ricky Doyle for some quality minutes and play really the whole team for managing without Walton for long stretches of the contest.

  • Retiredat23

Great win for Michigan. It turned out to be a foul-fest in the 2nd half, but the chant of the crowd to end the game (Ricky Doyle, Ricky Doyle) summed it up. He played huge and so did Caris by getting to the line so much. Michigan showed some fight tonight.

  • Burke_Does_Work

    Ricky’s new chant: “O’Doyle Rules! O’Doyle Rules!”

    • Tyler Carter

It might be asking too much, but if folks could whisper the “O” and really hit the “Doyle”, it could break things.

    • countourzealous

I think “Doyle Rules!” is close enough.

  • jemblue

Nice win! Doyle is going to become one of those guys everyone else in the Big Ten is going to hate. (Three years from now, they’ll be “He’s STILL there?”) You need grinders like him to win titles.

  • Burke_Does_Work

Caris may average like 18 points a game, with 14 of them coming from the stripe

    • Retiredat23

His ability to get to the line was huge. That part of his game will translate in the Association.

      • Burke_Does_Work

Now if only he could finish about 50% of the time

  • Richmond_Eric

I know Caris is the Man. However, perhaps the team needs to run the offense before going one on one so ofter?

    • Retiredat23

They were in the bonus with 12 minutes left in the 2nd half, so I can’t blame him.

    • David Remmler

Yeah, they need to work some plays a little more so that Caris gets better looks.

But man, he definitely looks like a lottery pick when he goes one on one.

  • Fab 5 Legends

Ricky Doyle is our most aggressive big, he deserves to be a starter at this moment

  • Chezaroo

Great effort Blue! Might have found something with Doyle, plays a lot like Graham Brown a great teammate.

  • David Remmler

    Nice win!

Good to see Doyle having a solid game. He’s solid on both ends inside.

And although Chatman didn’t put much in the stat column, I think he’s settling into the college game a little more and should only improve over time.

    • Old Man

I thought Chatman looked better as well. I wish he would just hit one three to get the feeling and he should be ok. You could see a couple nice moves.

  • Arn P

Anyone else hear every expletive-laced rant and cheer from the Michigan crowd on the espn3 feed? That was hella entertaining.

    • jakerblue

There was one dude who you could clearly hear and he just kept talking trash, it was great.
      Was that you Dylan?

      • Ha! Couldn’t hear anything from where we were all sitting on press row.

  • Truth

Guys I would love to stay and chat but Indiana just got eliminated from NCAA tournament contention so I have some trolling to do elsewhere.

    • Guest

Man, I love it when IU fans are unhappy about basketball. All respect to InsideTheHall for great content, but that doesn’t always extend to their fans.

  • MGoTweeter

very nice win! I give a lot of credit to Oregon for putting up a heck of a fight. That team just plays dang hard for forty minutes. Unfortunate that Benjamin got hurt as that might really hinder their ability to compete with VCU for forty.

As for Michigan, they accomplished the most important thing but exposed some new problems. Gotta be able to contain dribble penetration better and find weakside box outs. Plus just go get the ball when its up there. Too many times Michigan players were left flat footed while Oregon attacked the ball in the air. The offense also never was able to find a good balance. The pick n roll has been the center piece of the offense for the last couple years, but this team has not been able to effectively use it. Really seems like the floor spacing is the primary issue, which is understandable with guys in new roles and young players.

On the positive side, great to see Doyle really step up. I loved his effort above everything else. This was not an easy game for him match up wise, but he brought the energy the team needed. Caris and Walton both made some great plays down the stretch. If Michigan can figure out the spacing issues, those guys should be terrors in iso situations all year.

Villanova is going to be a big step up from this, but I am anxious to see how the guys respond to the issues tonight because I am sure Jay Wright is going to be pinpointing those areas.

    • gpsimms

Well, it was a tough matchup for him defensively. But on the offensive end, he had 40 lbs. and 2 inches on everyone on Oregon.

Not saying his performance wasn’t something to get excited about, it was, but it’s just worth mentioning that Oregon was a good matchup for him on the one end of the floor.
