Question for you guys: Can we honestly say GRIII is back? Dunks are probably confidence booster, but is he really playing all that well?

    • Wayman Britt

Not yet, because IU and MSU will never give him those easy buckets.

      • http://www.facebook.com/mbainbridge2 Mike Bainbridge

        exactly my thinking

    • A2JD

Confidence is a big part of it, though.

  • A2JD

How come the people at Crisler, when given a FREE T-Shirt, still can’t get with the spirit of things and put it on? Embarrassing.

    • A2JD

Our Guv is one of the offenders. He needs a Crash McGary foot to the face again.

  • A2JD

Nik is having a good 2nd half so far. He’s still pretty rough on D.

  • http://www.facebook.com/mbainbridge2 Mike Bainbridge

Do these big dunks matter when they give it right back on D?

    • Wayman Britt

agree, you need to play D if you want to advance in the NCAA tourney.

  • mattkast

GRIII with how many dunks today?

    • A2JD

      Five

  • A2JD

I liked Vogrich getting a look but now he’s had two 3’s stuck in his face. Bring back Timmay.

    • http://www.umhoops.com/ Dylan Burkhardt

They went to him for Caris w/ Tim having three fouls. Strategy didn’t work.

  • Wayman Britt

The transition dunks look great and the crowd loves them, but truthfully how many of those are you going to get against IU, MSU and UW.

  • Angman

This is exactly how upsets happen in March. Slow start by the favored team, the underdog gains confidence, the favorite continues to play crap defensively, and all of sudden it’s a 3 point game with 10 minutes to go. With the way they came out of the gates well in the second half, this lead should be 15, but they continue to give up offensive rebounds and transition 3s. Buckle up, this last 10 minutes is going to be more frantic than it needed to be.

  • Dr_ZC

Why do we use Vogrich? Missed a box out and two defensive assignments? We really have a way to make opposite offenses brilliant.

    • http://www.umhoops.com/ Dylan Burkhardt

No secret that LeVert has been struggling and Tim has 3 fouls.

      • Dr_ZC

Right, but nick has the game of his life at the 2. Put another big in.

  • umnyc

We need to work on boxing out and playing solid on ball D. We go for too many steals and blocks… Great when we convert, but leaves us in awful defensive position when we miss… And that happens a lot

  • CDeSana

That charge could have been called on us a few times today; Timmy, Nik and GRIII tend to do the same thing dump it off too late and plow into the defender just waiting to take the charge. Gotta stop leaving their feet to deliver the pass.

  • Wayman Britt

Why is Horford leaving his man to double team 35 feet from the hoop then his man scores.

  • CDeSana

Cazzie nails it! Mitch has helped but we simply need to be better in the interior defense and on the defensive rebounds.

  • http://www.facebook.com/mbainbridge2 Mike Bainbridge

So many missed layups and FT

  • Scott Kremkow

when Nick Colella made the open three to cut it to 53-50, whose man was that? Vogrich? or Stauskas?

  • A2JD

    Welcome back, NIKKI BUCKETS!!!

  • Mattski

Would love it if Timmy came back next year, he said whistfully.

  • Scott Kremkow

THJ starts 1 for 7 and 0 for 3 from 3 before making super hard reverse layup under basket also 1 for 4 from free throw line

  • Jonathan Cummings

We have zero points and 5 rebounds from McGary, Morgan, Horford, and Bielfeldt.

  • David

I like our guys a lot, but we’re soft. We don’t play strong D, and we are not aggressive on either glass. We’re the anti-MSU — graceful, beautiful basketball, but not always tough enough.

    • Indiana_Matt

We would go undefeated in the Pac-10 :)

  • Scott Kremkow

Do not let State beat you twice! Do not lose at home, ever. We must protect this house! especially in front of The Man!

    • A2JD

I felt like Wisky beat us twice.

  • Scott Kremkow

I went to school same time as Glen Rice, i was there for every game.

  • http://www.facebook.com/mbainbridge2 Mike Bainbridge

I’d be mad too if I were Chambers on that one

    • Steve2081

It definitely wasn’t on Nik but yeah probably didn’t need to be called on them either.

  • Angman

Watching our transition and early offence is so much fun, they run it so well. What I hope continues to get hammered into our guys’ heads is that we create the transition and early offence off of actually stopping the other team. If they improve on defence, the sky is the limit. If not, it’s going to be a short March run.

  • Mattski

Not such a bad call there with Stauskas, pushed him away.

  • http://www.facebook.com/mbainbridge2 Mike Bainbridge

How many easy put backs is PSU going to have?

    • Wayman Britt

We will get a win today, but I have not seen UM improve any on defense or rebounding today.

  • David

    We are allergic to D.

    • Angman

Can’t seem to get a stop if our life depended on it.

  • MGoTweeter

I will say that michigan has played more physical this half. A few bad bounces got guys out of position and led to easy baskets. But for the most part the defense has been better.

    • David

I don’t think so. Their OEff is going to be around 108. This has not been a great defensive effort.

      • MGoTweeter

Can’t just look at numbers. Michigan basically stepped aside in the first half on D. Second half they did a much better job. Unfortunately the ball bounced to psu on several occasions and psu made some shots

  • CDeSana

Ughhhhhhhhhhhh how many bunnies have we given up today do to bad switches?

  • Scott Kremkow

Vogrich has 2, LeVert has 1. no Michigan man available for 6th man of the game award.

  • Dr_ZC

Our interior defense is a farce. They had 4 players under our basket and we were nowhere near for the board.

  • Scott Kremkow

Wisconsin 39 Ohio 22 at the half.

  • CDeSana

Not pretty that is for sure

  • umnyc

I’m happy about the win, but out effort continues to be suspect.

  • Dr_ZC

Somebody mentioned we need to play hellacious defense. I think he misspelled hilarious. I say we still need to play with 2 bigs down low, but keep Robinson Stauskas Tim and Trey in the lineup.. Oh, wait.. Is it illegal to play defense with 6 players?

  • Mattski

I think the coach will take this one. But it’s hard to imagine us shoring up the D enough to go very deep into the tournament. Still no JoMo, that’s true. But McGary has taken a step back.

  • Scott Kremkow

Nik and Trey Robinson stepped up but we need Timmay back!!

    • Dr_ZC

Also we need the ghost of Christmas past on defense
