Report: Five-star Jaylen Brown sets Michigan official visit for January 24th

Dylan Burkhardt

Class of 2015 five-star wing forward Jaylen Brown is set to take an official visit to Michigan on January 24th, according to a report by’s Evan Daniels.

Brown is the 247Sports Composite No. 2 player in the class of 2015 and is considering UCLA, North Carolina, Kentucky, Kansas Georgia and Georgia Tech.

Brown recently took an official visit to North Carolina and visited Kansas, Kentucky and UCLA this fall.

Brown is being recruited by Michigan head coach John Beilein and assistant coach LaVall Jordan. The Georgia native has interest in the Wolverines because of family connections to the state.

“Michigan, of course, needed no introduction,” Brown’s mother told UM Hoops this fall. “They reached out and spoke with Jaylen regarding his interest, and since we are Michigan people, we definitely have a big interest regarding Michigan.”

Huge huge huuuuuge chance on that visit. Not for a commit, but to make a really strong impression. With Traevon Jackson out, we may get lucky to steal a win (best wishes on a speedy recovery to him). Hope the Maize Rage can contribute to making Jaylen’s visit feel special.

I was just going to mention that the students need to really recognize this kid and get involved like the north carolina students……………..hopefully they step up

I’m a pretty involved Maize Rage freshman and I am pushing to get Jaylen recognized. I will do my best!

LOL, its kinda sad we are hoping something like that will help with this kids decision, but unfortunately that is the reality with 1 n done’s

THIS! The maize rage almost never calls out former players or recruits effectively. If any maize ragers with power can make him feel welcome, that would be awesome!

  • Wayman Britt

Harbaugh could have many recruits on campus on the the 24th also, hopefully that may help in his recruitment. I bet they all are at the game against Wisconsin.

Have no idea as to Jalen’s true interest, or the depth of a relationship that has been cultivated by the staff. He is obviously a tremendous talent and surely a one and done. I hope I’m way off base in “assuming” that this may be an obligatory visit to please mom.

    • Kenny

Everything has to click for us to get him. Mom is a Sparty but uncle is a Wolverine, so the visit is more likely for his own curiosity rather that please mom.

don’t see this kid coming to UM…but hope he surprises all of us :) nice to hear he still considers taking a visit

Agreed, unless he has a MAJOR interest in education I doubt he comes. Given his quote on Beilein, “Their coach is cool”, I doubt it. It will help having the last visit, it won’t help if this team continues to play the way they are.

He’s going to Kentucky. Let’s be honest.

O.K. I’m going to need John Beilein to start recruiting to top tier talent. We did pretty well in the dance the last couple of years…So, why haven’t we landed or really gone after any blue chip talent???
We need the send everything, including the kitchen sink, and land us some studs! IJS
