    LOL Louisville a 4

    • MLaw

That’s what I thought. Duke the 3 in this region with us the 2. Speculation of course.

  • arsenal926

!!!!!!!!!!!!!! just trolling Wichita state with Louisville and Kentucky.

  • jemblue

Whew – glad we don’t face L’ville in the S16.

  • MGoTweeter

    Yuck. Duke and mihigan here?

    • Joel_C

      Oh my god

  • Burke_Does_Work

    We’re a 2 guys!

  • MLaw

2 in the midwest. I’ll take it.

  • Joel_C

    Well there’s Texas

  • guestavo

Texas is not a good matchup for us.

    • jemblue

Why? They’re a terrible shooting team.

      • guestavo

        Cameron Ridley and Jonathan Holmes.

        • jemblue

They are big, but I think we can zone them up. They’re awful from 3-point range.

    • Chazer

      They are rolling…

      • jemblue

Huh? They lost 5 of their last 8.

        • Chazer

My bad i thought they won their last 5

  • arsenal926

Wofford’s best player isn’t playing if I remember correctly.

  • MLaw

    Somewhat tough second round.

  • Burke_Does_Work

Yep Duke is our 3, knew it

  • MLaw

Called it- that’s a somewhat brutal bracket.

  • Chazer

    Really tough draw with Texas

  • MLaw

    Duke with two byes. Ugh.

    • guestavo

      Not really

      • MLaw

Umass in Raleigh is a tough game?

        • guestavo

          Tennessee is

          • MLaw

            Possibly.

  • Burke_Does_Work

IOWA has to play in? Wow!

  • arsenal926

MSU is definitely going to be the favorite in their bracket. Nova Virginia MSU and a 4th seed..

    • Josh

      Iowa St

      • arsenal926

yup MSU might be the 4th though.

    • Burke_Does_Work

MSU will be the 4th seed, Iowa St will be the 3 seed.

    • Chezaroo

They will be everyone’s pick for final four

  • Joel_C

We’d potentially have to beat Texas, Duke, Louisville back-to-back-to-back to get back to the Final Four. Jeebus.

  • MGoTweeter

    Iowa Tennessee offense versus defense

  • guestavo

BUT I THOUGHT WE WANTED THE MIDWEST lol

  • Josh

Who cares about Duke and Texas and UMass. Having to play Iowa a 3rd time in the Sweet 16 would blow.

  • Burke_Does_Work

Chris Webber is doing commercials still

    • Joel_C

“Give me some money and when I get to Burger King I’ll buy you a whopper.”
      [after getting to Burger King]
“I was preyed upon as someone that was trying to go to Burger King, you only helped me out in hopes of getting paid back in burgers later.”

  • arsenal926

If Kentucky upsets Wichita and all the other teams play to their seeds. we could potentially have Kentucky Louisville Duke and Michigan playing in the same region. Might negate some of the home court advantage we should have.

    • Burke_Does_Work

Assuming we get past Duke, I would rather play Kentucky than Louisville. I think we match up better against Louisville but they’re clicking and Kentucky’s players don’t really play as hard as they can

  • MGoTweeter

East is gonna be pretty deep. Virginia Villanova Iowa at msu cincy North Carolina

  • MLaw

Matchups> Geography. Two tough brackets in the South and Midwest, and two pretty easy brackets in the East and West.

  • Chezaroo

We better concentrate on our first game!

    • arete

No, we should start dreaming about the final four.

      • Chezaroo

Can’t get there without the first one, can you?

        • arete

          Sure, sorry I was joking.

  • Cory

Why would Iowa State be in the East and Duke in the Midwest? Makes no sense to me.

    • guestavo

the committee favoring tough matchups over geography imo

    • arete

Probably don’t want Virginia and Duke in the same bracket.

  • MLaw

Surprised MSU at 4? I am a little, but with the bracket they were in, that’s how it had to work out.

    • Burke_Does_Work

I’m not. Scratch the B1G tourney and they were limping into the postseason.

      • MLaw

True, but those games do count. Two top 10 wins.

        • Burke_Does_Work

Not as much as you’d expect. The committee understands that playing back to back to back games make whoever wins a crapshoot.

          • MLaw

That’s true in reality. Hard to know how much they discount or value that. That’s my only question mark.

  • Burke_Does_Work

Can’t pick MSU out of the East when NC is in their bracket.

  • guestavo

The East would have been perfect.

  • Cory

    SMU got left out.

    • Burke_Does_Work

      They got screwed imo

    • MLaw

Only team to get screwed. Otherwise pretty good.

      • Josh

Look at SMU – (1) nonconf is awful and (2) they beat nobody on the road and had a bunch of bad road losses in conference (I was there for one vs. Temple. SMU was fool’s gold.

  • jemblue

Iowa, man – from top 10 when we played them in January to last four in.

    • MLaw

They were lucky to get in. They had the wins, but played like garbage down the stretch.

      • jemblue

They’re lucky it’s not a field of 65 anymore. They basically replicated our collapse in 2006 but had those extra NCAA spots to save them.

  • Joel_C

Wichita really got screwed with Louisville as their 4, even more than us. It’s like the committee wants to be able and point and say “See they were overrated!” when they lose in the Sweet 16.

    • Burke_Does_Work

They will be motivated for that game if they meet each other. Pride on the line based off of what happened last season for Wich St.

    • guestavo

      You are overrating Louisville

      • Joel_C

Perhaps. I just don’t recall seeing a potential 1/4 match-up where my first thought was “The 1-seed winning would be a huge upset”.

  • Josh

Seriously, I am far more concerned with seeing Iowa again as a potential Sweet 16 team than Texas, Duke, UMass, whatever.

    • MLaw

Iowa would have to rise from the dead to beat a couple teams before playing us. Could happen, but I would need to see it to believe it.

      • Josh

I hear you re: Iowa, but with 6 Big 10 teams, they did not have to put 2 in the same quadrant. Just makes it that much more difficult.

    • guestavo

I have no doubts they will shrink before then

    • Burke_Does_Work

Duke is easily the scarier team to play. Jabari Parker is playing like a man recently, and they have so many 3 point shooters

  • Burke_Does_Work

Shoulda been Minnesota vs NC State in the play in game

  • arete

Hope our shots are falling and falling and falling.

    • MLaw

Should we get there- have to outshoot Duke and be ready to body up.

      • arete

We ran out our bad luck today.

        • MLaw

          Lets hope so.

    • Joel_C

      through the net if possible

  • jemblue

All 3 CBS guys think MSU is in the Final Four? Please.

    • Joel_C

Honestly I can’t make much of an argument against them at this point

  • Cory

I have no fear of Duke in the Sweet 16. We are a completely different team than the one with no identity that played at Cameron.

    • Ben Sheler

Yea. We are so different. In that game, Morgan and Horford played 16 minutes combined, Stauskas scored 4 pts (0-2 from the field!), and we were 3-13 from 3. If Duke is looking at that game to gauge our potential matchup they will be in trouble. It might give them undue confidence.

  • guestavo

ESPN is obnoxious. UK is under-seeded and UM is over-seeded? please.

    • JohnNavarreIsMyHero

I guess going 19-4 in the last 23 games means nothing since the last game we played was a loss.

Kentucky struggled in a pathetically weak SEC and won nothing.

    • Joel_C

According to their magical 100% accurate BPI formula that is so perfect they won’t tell anyone how they calculate it -_-

  • Cory

Any estimate for when the game times will be released?

    • Joel_C

I think it’s a few hours after the bracket’s announced, so later tonight.
