Michigan looks to stay at the top of the Big Ten standings this afternoon, hosting Wisconsin at the Crisler Center. The Badgers lost five of six games in late January, but have turned things around with a couple of quality wins. Bill Raftery and Spero Dedes will be on the broadcast for CBS with tip off scheduled for 1:06 p.m.

    No answer for Frank.

  • MGoTweeter

The one on one matchups have eaten up michigans D. Might be too late today but gotta think about doubling Kaminsky on catch

  • Mattski

    Time to double Kaminski?

  • kam

Nik makes bad passes at times

    • guestavo

You mean the last 6 games?

  • kam

    game

  • Tony DeMaria

    That’s a dagger

  • MGoTweeter

That might do it. Bad pass and three in the face

  • guestavo

Only 2 guys showed up. Now MSU is a must win probably just to share the title.

  • Mattski

Nik throws away quite a lot of passes.

  • Josh Gasser with what is probably the dagger.

  • mstein23

That may be it. If UM started the game with the same energy it brought from halftime, this would be a different game.

  • OPD

Just keep competing. The game is probably out of reach, but we need to fight harder.

  • kam

    10 seconds!

  • guestavo

Just think what Payne is going to do next Sunday.

  • jakelam2116

Poor call. Shoulda been shot clock violation.

  • Chris De Sana

    Too funny

  • kam

    they cant guard him pathetic

  • Wayman Britt

If UM wants to win the conference have to beat MSU

    • guestavo

Another Sunday game against a better version of Kaminsky in Payne.

    • OPD

We have always needed to beat MSU in order to throw off the shackles of Spartan oppression. We will lull them to sleep with this loss and pounce on them next week.

  • kam

Nik really has struggled as of late..

  • guestavo

At home on a week of rest…

  • Chris De Sana

No chance of winning when Irvin goes 0-6, Walton goes 0-6 and Nik goes 3-10.

    • kam

      ANDDDD the defense was horrible

      • Chris De Sana

Not saying you are wrong but if we have an average day of offense I think we score enough points to win the game.

        • kam

          probably true

  • TimgColo

The sky is falling the sky is falling! Just one game. Better bring it next week. Statement game.

    • Chris De Sana

When Mitch went down we all would have been happy to split the pair with Wisconsin, our expectations changed when we won on the road.

  • MGoTweeter

Michigan got away with only playing one half of good basketball last game, not goin to be so for fortunate today. Wisky played well but UM did not show up early.

  • Chezaroo

Indiana, Iowa, and Wisconsin, horrible offensive displays. The defense was always gonna be in Q, but our offense in these games was totally dysfunctional.

    • OPD

Without a healthy Mitch we have no guaranteed inside production.

      • Chris De Sana

On either end of the floor, the bigger issue is that we almost never feed the post without him which means teams can better guard the arc and that is exactly what they have been doing as of late.

  • OPD

If I were forced to pick a game to lose I would far prefer this one over Ohio State.

It is small consolation, but the win in Columbus was very nice.

  • guestavo

Wish LeVert had Nik’s court vision. Would fix everything.

  • jakelam2116

Well, they’ve got a week to get things sorted out. I’m pretty sure they’ll play a better first half next Sunday.

  • guestavo

Love Morford but I can’t wait until the day when we have highly ranked bigmen.

    • Chris De Sana

Or at least a healthy one

    • kam

      Doyle donnal and Mitch

      • guestavo

Doyle isn’t highly rated. I like Donnal and we might only get a freshman year out of Mitch. Who are we recruiting in 2015?

        • kam

They are saying Doyle will probably end up a 4 star so that’s not bad. And a lot! We are looking at like 5 big men

          • guestavo

            Big men or stretch 4s?

          • kam

BIG MEN. I think they are looking at like 1 or 2 stretch 4’s in that class

        • Indiana_Matt

I hear you, but Frank Kaminsky was a 3 star recruit. I think Donnal and Doyle could be nasty as upperclassmen.

  • Chezaroo

Transition defense against State is paramount. And we’re not very good at it.

  • A2MIKE

First game I have turned off early in a few years, not beating Wisconsin with that type of effort for 20 min to start

  • jakelam2116

    Go Huskers!

  • Truth75

Going into the mich st game with nik struggling is not a good sign. If he has this type of game, I would expect the same results…

  • jakelam2116

Nik’s scoring has been down seven points over the last five games.

  • Indiana_Matt

Ugh. Well. I think it was reasonable to think we could lose 2 or 3 out of this last stretch. I think we’ll play much better next week. But as tough as MSU is with Payne back it might not be enough to win. But improvement would be good going into the stretch of very winnable games. Hard to figure out what any of the teams in this conference are going to do from week to week. As young as we are it makes some sense. Wisci and OSU both have a lot of upperclassmen and even they have struggled mightily with consistency.

    • OPD

MSU looks quite beatable right now. I’m sure that they will be “up” for the game next week, but I think we have a chance if we don’t sleepwalk through the first half.

    • guestavo

We haven’t lost back to back games all year.

      • Indiana_Matt

        Very true.

  • jakelam2116

OK, Nebraska, I see you. Let’s see if Huskers can keep this going (and MSU can keep self-destructing) in the second half.
