Know its a small sample overall, but this 1st half will help our efficiency margin recover from the Indiana game.

  • kam

Don’t let up.. Come out the first 7-10 and destroy them..

  • BlueBear_E

Come on Dylan, lets see those smokin’ first half stats.

  • Michigan 49, Nebraska 21 at the ahlf.

Michigan 1.47 PPP, Nebraska .63 PPP

    Michigan: 81 eFG%, 21% TO Rate, 22% OR Rate, 42% FTA/FGA
    NEB: 36% efG%, 24% TO Rate, 21% OR Rate, 7% FTA/FGA

So we almost scored 50 while turning the ball over 21% of the time? That’s pretty nice. That was a thoroughly enjoyable half of basketball. Thank you team.

    • Michigan shot 86% on twos, 53% on threes in the first half. There was actually some sloppy play in there with a few silly turnovers (passes that had no chance), but when you shoot like that, not much else matters.

Nebraska came out chucking threes and when they didn’t fall, things snowballed quickly. Easily one of Michigan’s best halves of the season and it’s safe to say that Indiana might have woken Michigan up a little bit.

  • BlueBear_E

    thank you

  • BlueBear_E

the efG% has to be even further down the bell curve than the PPP

  • Burke_Does_Work

Nothing more satisfying than a blowout IMO. Too many close games, whether it be football or basketball, within the last year or so.

  • Burke_Does_Work

A trend from the last 3 or so games is that we are turning the ball over too much. Careless passes into the post are being intercepted. Gotta fix that.

    • kam

Nik makes some of those bad passes but then makes crazy good ones.. Caris makes bad passes because he sees the open man but he sees it too late.. Both players need to keep learning

    • jakelam2116

Averaging 9.6 on the season. 10, 11, 11 last three games. Tonight have seven (way above average). But let’s be honest — they can handle those bad passes when they’re shooting/executing so well. I don’t think those are mutually exclusive things. I’ll take a few more TOs and crisp, moving offense over being stagnant.

  • MGoTweeter

Just gotta stay focused now and not create any bad habits in this type of game.

    • jakelam2116

Clean up the passing in the second half hopefully. Bad turnovers on Saturday would be costly.

  • Mattski

Let’s continue to serve notice to Iowa that we will be hunting bear on Saturday.

  • Terran Petteway had just 3 points on 1-of-6 shooting with three turnovers in the first half.

    • kam

Nik was on him most of the half.. I thought it was odd, but it worked

  • kam

Nice take.. So quick with that first step

    • guestavo

I remember someone saying he had an average first step lol

  • guestavo

I’d like for us to keep working on our zone and getting it to standard.

  • Burke_Does_Work

    Sweet move by Caris

  • kam

    nice glenn

  • jakelam2116

    Now play some D, Glenn!

  • kam

    I love it!

  • Burke_Does_Work

GRIII’s confidence is probably highest it’s been in forever.

  • guestavo

Hopefully Glenn is finally out of his slump.

  • MGoTweeter

    Getting a bit three happy

    • Burke_Does_Work

We’re lucky they’re falling because we aren’t doing much of anything else offensively.

      • MGoTweeter

Don’t think you can say lucky. Almost all have been wide open looks. I just want them to explore a bit more right now considering the lead, instead of taking the first wide open three

  • kam

Caris rarely gets beat off the dribble anymore.. He was killed by NEB off the bounce last time.. Its been like this the last like 6 games.. Wonder what the problem was

    • guestavo

      Experience.

    • jakelam2116

I’m not sure it can just be chalked up to experience. But you’re right — big difference. I don’t think he’s gambling quite as much and his balance seems better.

  • jakelam2116

Something about Nebraska brings out the best in Glenn (at least on offense). Was 9-12 for 19 in Lincoln.

  • kam

    work on that floater lol

    • guestavo

      Would make him so dangerous

      • kam

I’m sure he will add that this summer!

  • kam

go strong with that Jon!! U had a lay up if you dont fall away

  • kam

    Nice hustle glenn!

  • arsenal926

We’ve reached a point where I get upset with Nebraska’s shot selection.

  • guestavo

I want to see one of Caris or Nik get a triple double lol

    • Burke_Does_Work

Caris would be most likely, he’s so long that rebounds wouldn’t be a problem and he can definitely distribute.

    • kam

      are they close?

      • guestavo

Ehhh Nik is 9-5-8- and Caris is 14-7-5

  • MGoTweeter

I think it is safe to say that Nebraska is not trying very hard right now

  • OPD

OK. Bring in the subs at 8 minute mark. Not worth risking anyone.

    • MGoTweeter

Beilein usually does not sub that early.

      • OPD

I know. It’s just me. Incident I saw at a high school game 20 years ago has me gun shy about playing starters in absolute garbage time.

    • Burke_Does_Work

8 min is pretty early, regardless of the deficit

    • guestavo

It’s worth trying out wrinkles and subbing at like the 5 min mark imo

  • Drew

Is Horford limping a little bit?

  • Alex

Not a lot of people know that? All right didn’t know he coached football. Nice tidbit.

  • OPD

This game just puts a smile on my face. So great to see the team come out pumped and just never let up. I was worried that they would be flat after Indiana.

  • Michigan in the midst of a 3:15 scoring drought (!).

  • kam

    jordan almost got hurt….

  • kam

    there no drought

  • Burke_Does_Work

    Horford can oop it too

    • kam

id guess everyone but spike and walton can catch an oop lol

  • OPD

I wish the BTN showed more of the band.

  • Burke_Does_Work

    Bielfeldt is pretty selfish.

  • Mattski

    Basically a high-end farmer–oy.
