Michigan 70, Arizona 72-26

Michigan faces Stanford at the Barclays Center tonight (8:30 p.m.) without its star big man Mitch McGary. McGary isn’t dressed and will miss the game due to a number of different injuries.

The Wolverines need a quality win with the non-conference season running out while Stanford hopes to cap off its East coast trip in style after winning at UConn earlier this week. Gus Johnson and Bill Raftery have the call for Fox Sports 1. Join in the discussion below before, during and after the game.

BIG WIN. Cupcake at home and hopefully we get everyone rested and healthy for what is a pretty light schedule to start the Big 10 season. This team could get on a roll.

    • Wayman Britt

The away game at Sota will be big, need a win their

  • MGoTweeter

Pretty dang ugly but needed that win. Lots to work on especially on D but plenty of time to work on things

  • andrew

That was tough to watch. It would have been nice if they’d seen if Chasson Randle could go left, instead, he went right for every one of his buckets. Michigan really struggles to stop the drive. They need to close down the space and not let guys hit them with momentum because any contact was being whistled as a foul. I also enjoy made free throws.

    • MAZS

So true. In fact, other than dropping it down to the box, Stanford ran almost all of their offense from the right side. I don’t think any of their players went left.

  • guestavo

Robinson has been shutting a lot of haters up.

    • Kam

      Mitch’s turn!

  • Kam

The one thing i LOVED was their passing and WILLINGNESS to pass to the open guy.. We have guys who can and like to pass. Team players

  • Mattski

Second win of the season against a team with a winning record.

    • guestavo

Has more to do with scheduling than anything about the quality of our team. Gives no kind of context since we’ve went down to the wire with two top 10 teams imo

      • Mattski

We can soft-pedal it a little, but we’re a long way from being a tough or consistent team.

        • guestavo

          Outside of Arizona, who is?

          • Mattski

Several teams we could point to, if you care to be argumentative. But this one is ours.

    • Joel_C

Yeah. We got good quality losses though lol

  • andrew

It was nice to see Robinson be aggressive. I do think they are willing passers. They were too passive for a stretch there against the zone. They needed to drive against it or hit the high post, put some pressure on Stanford. They sort of fell in love with passing it around the perimeter until it got to 10 seconds. They needed more urgency. But yeah, make your free throws and it’s easier/got to get the guards bodying guys up before they are headed towards the rim with a full head of steam. They can’t keep having break downs with screen and rolls and letting point guards drive the ball down the gut and be a good team. Either the defense will get better or they will be a 10-8 Big Ten Team.

  • Chezaroo

For all his limitations, JMo gave us a very solid effort. Nice to see that young man step up and produce. When was the last time he scored 8 pts? Go Blue!

    • Ben

By far his best game of the year. That was sophemore JMO

  • andrew

Also, the end of the game was timeout apocalypse. They should make everyone watch those final and a half minutes before deciding on whether to take away some timeouts. That was slooooowwww.
