Report: Michigan offers four-star combo forward Donte Grantham

995914First reported by Sam Webb, Michigan extended a scholarship offer to Donte Grantham. Grantham took an official visit to Michigan this weekend.

Grantham is a 6-foot-7 combo forward from Martinsburg, West Virginia that will play a prep season at Hargrave Military Academy this year.

He’s regarded as a top-100 prospect nationally and holds offers from Cincinnati, Clemson, UConn and others. Grantham took an official visit to Clemson on August 31st and is expected to visit Cincinnati officially next weekend.

Grantham is now one of four prospects that the Wolverines are actively recruiting with a scholarship offer, joining Devin Booker, Kameron Chatman and James Blackmon Jr.

    Boy it was a big weekend for UM basketball recruiting. I just wish someone from the class of 2014 would commit. It might push the others. The longer our four recruits wait the more nervous we fans get.

    WVU did a poor job evaluating the kid when they were the only program looking at him. Offered a walk-on. Then, when other programs saw Donte, the full scholarship offers started rolling in. By then, WVU’s scholarship offer was a taken as an insult by the Grantham family.

    End result: a WV kid that grew up wantiong to go to WVU is going somewhere else, where they didn’t play games with him. It’s sad.
