Tim Hardaway Jr. to announce NBA decision at 3 p.m.

Dylan Burkhardt

Michigan 78, VCU 53 - 3Michigan announced that Tim Hardaway Jr. will be having a press conference at 3 p.m. to announce whether he’ll return to school or enter the NBA Draft after his junior season.

Hardaway is projected as a fringe first round pick or a second round pick by most draft prognosticators and was named Michigan’s Most Improved Player after averaging 15 points and five rebounds per game as a junior.

Hardaway has been listed by Chad Ford as a prospect with “one foot out the door” and most expect him to the enter the NBA Draft, including CBS Sports’ Jeff Goodman.

Trey Burke has already entered the NBA Draft while Glenn Robinson III and Mitch McGary have yet to announce their decision. In his latest mock draft, Chad Ford projects Trey Burke as the No. 7 pick, Glenn Robinson III as the No. 13 pick and Mitch McGary as the No. 14 pick in the first round.

I think Tim has loads more potential than many people realize. Ten year NBA career coming up. Hope GRIII and Mitch are here for another year!

i really hope Timmy stays for another year. If he leaves, that’s a bummer, but we’ll be okay in the future and so will he. I’m behind whatever decision he makes for himself!

It seems that everybody here puts too much weight on what the services of this bozo Ford say, regarding on Tim’s draft position. All year around, experts used to say that Michigan has the best back-court in the country. Tim has been voted as the most improved player, he averaged 15 points and 5 boards per game and Michigan made it to the final. Add to this that Tim’s father as an NBA scout knows a couple of things more than the average “expert”. I have the feeling that the NBA board has given Tim a pretty good evaluation, by projecting him as a first rounder.

If, of course, his press conference is to announce he is staying, he cannot go wrong. He will have his degree, and he would be the undisputed leader of this team, with nobody to upstage him this year.

Agreed. Whatever tim decides, it will be the correct decision and made with much more info than any of us have.

Timmy should be the best advised on making his decision. And I don’t see his decision can go wrong either way. If I have to put my money on it, he will leave early.
