The NCAA tournament brackets will be revealed in just three hours and Michigan will finally know its postseason fate. The bracketology conjecture will be a thing of the past and the field will be set. The Wolverines will know who they are playing, where they are going and where they are seeded.

Brackets will be unveiled at 6:00 p.m. on CBS and we’ll start the open thread now for those of you that want to discuss the Ohio State-Wisconsin Big Ten final throughout the afternoon.

Check out a full rundown of bracketology projections here or leave your comments below.

  • Best part of all this… None of the so called experts really have an idea. They are just guessing what a random group of people is going to decide.

Last year I don’t think anyone, except maybe Palm, had Michigan headed to Nashville and that’s where UM ended up.

What’s most important to you? Seeding? Quality of respective No. 1 or No. 2? Or location?

    • Reid20B

IMO, location and seeding take a backseat to match ups. I’d rather be out in Salt Lake City and be in a softer region than be in Auburn Hills and have Duke and Louisville as a 1 and a 2.

      • Well, region doesn’t affect the early round pod. So Michigan could easily be in Auburn Hills but still in the West region, hypothetically with Gonzaga or New Mexico maybe?

        • Reid20B

Ah, gotcha. That seems like a best case scenario?

    • ZRL

Based on how well we’ve played at home the last two years, playing at Auburn Hills is most important to me. At this point I just want to see a sweet 16 appearance, and anything more is gravy. Also, worrying about who the 1’s and 2’s in your region is a little premature since upsets will happen.

      • Premature!?!?! Speculating about who Michigan might play after winning two games in the tournament before the bracket is even released is premature?!?!?! Never ;-)

    • CoryR

First round location is big for me. I think it’s very important that we play in Auburn Hills.

    • Mattski

Path to the round of eight.

    • AG

I just don’t want to end up against one of those trendy upset midmajor picks like South Dakota State, Bucknell, Davidson, or Akron. I’m hoping for a team like Iona that runs and doesn’t defend. I promise you Momo Jones would rather outscore Trey Burke than shut him down.

  • And Florida loses to Ole Miss. Bubble shrinks, does Florida drop off the 3-line?

    • arsenal926

I say they stay on the 3 line but fall to the 12th seed. Obviously just guessing as well but I would have.

      1. Indiana 2. Louisville. 3.Kansas 4. Miami
      5. Gonzaga 6. Duke 7.G-Town 8. OSU(would jump ahead of G-Town with win over Wisky)
      9. MSU 10. New Mexico 11. Michigan 12/13. Florida/KSU

I hope the Florida loss will knock them to a 4 seed but I think the last two 3 seeds comes down to Michigan/Florida/KSU

However, matchups are more important IMO so i’d definitely take a 4 seed if it meant a better matchup

      • ZRL

I know the committee is supposed to take the entire body of work into account and not focus on h2h results, but if it those 3 teams for the last 2 3 seeds it’s hard not to ignore the fact that Michigan rolled KSU on a neutral floor, who beat Florida on a semi-neutral court.

  • I think we will be a 3. We are playing like a 10 seed, but I think the committee will reward B1G teams because of the strength of the conference.

    • Playing like a 10 seed. Harsh.

    • jemblue

A lot of teams have faltered down the stretch – IU, MSU, Miami, Florida, Syracuse . . . it’s not just us.

  • NCAApants

Three seed. Auburn Hills. Book it.

    • jemblue

Very exciting to receive confirmation from a guy in official NCAA pants!

  • Who are we rooting for here? Does a Wisky win/loss effect us? I can’t root for Ohio

    • Ohio State.

      • I don’t see them losing. They are on a roll right now. Hottest team going into tourney

      • A2JD

I read this and thought, “Can I really do that?”. Then I saw that 350 pound guy with Buckeye face make-up and “Big Nut” on his back and the nausea set in. Even thought the B1G has been Must See TV this year, I’m better off not watching.

  • Wonder when we will make this game?

  • Jcgold

I’m honestly more concerned with our pod yah any particular region at this point. With Arizona, ucla, and unc likely be on that 5-6 line, I’m really worried about our odds on the first weekend , considering the defensive struggles as of late.

If we get past that, then ill worry about the 1s and 2s

    • If we get those matchups I’d be happy. Not many teams other than Indiana can run with us. Not with the best pg in the nation. Its the teams like VCU, Butler, Marquette, etc. Rugged defensive teams that will beat us

  • Bigange

I really hope that with IU’s loss and Louisvile’s win, Michigan can grab the 3 seed in the Midwest. They could play in Auburn Hills and then come to Indy.

  • A2JD

I’m thinking they are a 3 seed but I wouldn’t be totally shocked if they were a #2. Let’s hope they get sent to Auburn Hills and play the kind of ball we all know they can. Go Blue!!!

  • Mattski

Wow, 24-23 at halftime. Wisconsin game score have gone far past the rotten joke stage.

    • jemblue

To be fair, everyone is dog tired by this point in the conference tournament (3 games in 3 days).

  • Lunardi’s final bracket .. unless OSU loses in which case it isn’t really final I guess.

    http://espn.go.com/mens-college-basketball/bracketology

Michigan still a No. 4 at the Palace in the west region.

  • rlcBlue

Dang, Greg Anthony’s agent has been busy…

  • So Big Ten seeds… Indiana 1, Ohio State 2, Michigan State 3, Michigan .. 3? 4?… Wisconsin 5? Illinois 8? Minnesota 10?

  • Good for Michigan I guess…but hate seeing them win

  • Charles Barkley has no clue what he’s talking about. Not sure he watched a college basketball game this year.

  • Michigan is the last 3-seed in the final @bracketproject matrix. ow.ly/j6Qj8

  • Joci

which location would be the best for us??

  • Jcgold

Prediction: 4 seed. Auburn hills. South region. Kansas 1 in region.

    • Jcgold

      Boom

  • Louisville No. 1 overall.

  • ForeverBlue

    Go Valparaiso :)

  • ZRL

Wow, they screwed Louisville there. They get the top seed and end up in the toughest region.

  • rlcBlue

    Duke a 2 means Kansas is a 1, right?

    • MGoTweeter

Or gonzaga. I would think Miami and Indiana would be ones

      • rlcBlue

Zags a foregone conclusion. I think Indiana and Kansas have to be ahead of Miami

  • MGoTweeter

Tough region but I think msu should get to the sweet 16 with those matchups

  • MGoTweeter

    Lol poor kansas

  • MGoTweeter

    Michigan here?

  • rlcBlue

    Ruh roh

  • Yuck. VCU in second round is bad!!

  • JDR

    This is looking BRUTAL

  • MGoTweeter

Ugh. Did not want sd st nor vcu

    • JDR

Or Villanova or Georgetown or UNC – all three can beat anyone on any day

  • jemblue

I’m okay with it. Playing at home is big.

  • rlcBlue

Somebody’s got to slow down Wolters. Burke? LeVert?

  • MGoTweeter

South Dakota st reminds me of Wisconsin. They have one guar who is pretty dang good

    • Wayman Britt

Don’t know much about South Dakota. How is there defense? Do they turnover the ball over much?

    • rlcBlue

South Dakota St – #38 in offense, #209 in defense, #258 in tempo. They don’t remind me the least bit of Wisconsin.

      • JDR

        More like Michigan maybe? :)

        • rlcBlue

We want to see teams like us – entertaining games we have a chance to win.
If we play VCU, it could be a dunkathon or a complete fiasco.

          • MGoTweeter

Michigan could also blow them out just as easily. Whoever wins, if that matchup happens, probably wins going away.

          • rlcBlue

Right – the dunkathon we’d win by 20. The fiasco, not so much.

          • MGoTweeter

            Gotcha

      • MGoTweeter

I only watched them twice obviously they do not have the athletes or overall size of Wisconsin but the way they ran their offense inside out for threes reminded me of wisconsin

  • JDR

South region is looking heinous. Florida is a ridiculously good 3 seed, no?

  • JDR

UCLA/Minnesota should be a great first round matchup though…

    • rlcBlue

The alumni of the losing team will burn the coach at half court.
Not an effigy, the coach himself.

  • MGoTweeter

Looks like Ohio is going to get a really good bracket

    • rlcBlue

They earned it. Wisconsin on Gonzaga’s side of the bracket, though?

  • Chazer

Well no time to change now…..let the three ball fly and get out and run. This team has done very well outside of the B1G, lets hope they can get into up tempo games and can play their game!

    Go Blue!
