Burke needs to settle down and trust his teammates. Good thing O missed that huge alley oop.

    LETS GO BLUE

So nobody likes to box out on this team today?

  • http://www.umhoops.com/ Dylan Burkhardt

Every time Michigan goes for the block and no one puts a body on Zeller.

  • MGoTweeter

Missed shots. Bottom line right now

  • http://www.umhoops.com/ Dylan Burkhardt

The 1-3-1 gamble did not work. That’s for sure.

  • MGoTweeter

    Bad gamble by beilein

  • http://www.facebook.com/mbainbridge2 Mike Bainbridge

Thats not a jump ball???? seriously?

  • MGoTweeter

Refs seemed to have fallen asleep te last two minutes. I disagree with all of these calls

    • jakelam2116

The block on Oladipo was a good call. He initiated the contact.

      • MGoTweeter

Don’t agree think Burke put his arm out first

  • Mattski

Burke dribble-a-thon not working out so well. Hope Beilein can encourage them to do some creating down the stretch. . .

    WHAT A HORRENDOUS CALL

  • jemblue

    Wow – horrible call

  • Marshall

Burke needs to run the offense…quit jacking up jump shots.

  • mstein23

Well, there’s the home cookin’. Horrible call.

  • MGoTweeter

And the award for worst continuation call ever goes to mike eades

  • Marshall

Actually that’s the right call. Doesn’t normally get called that way, but he was fouled on the gather which is the beginning of shot. Don’t like it as a UM fan but correct none the less.

    • http://www.facebook.com/mbainbridge2 Mike Bainbridge

If there was actually a foul which there was not

      • Marshall

He was across his arm for the hold before he got to the jump ball.

  • MGoTweeter

That’s a two but they missed the early one

  • jemblue

Are all of IU’s 3s clearly behind the line? None were review-worthy?

  • MGoTweeter

    Robinson just abused today

  • Joel_C

    Welp we lose

  • http://www.facebook.com/mbainbridge2 Mike Bainbridge

    On to the next one…

  • jemblue

GRIII shouldn’t be on the floor right now – he’s rattled.

  • MGoTweeter

Michigan only has to look in the mirror. Just outplayed today. Missed bunnies and lost about every loose ball. Not the kid of effort you want to see

  • Mattski

    Burke from halfcourt? C’mon.

  • MGoTweeter

Gosh darnit. There is over a minute left and guys were sleep walking back on d. Wtf

  • Joel_C

Why do we have no road composure

    • Kevin Dale

      It will come. Still young.

  • MGoTweeter

    Burke you have teammates.

  • Mattski

Seems like we could have found Timmy a little more down the stretch here.

  • MGoTweeter

I really have questions about whether or not Burke actually trusts his teammates. So many unnecessary forced bad shots

  • http://www.facebook.com/mbainbridge2 Mike Bainbridge

Did Oladipo dunk? We WILL remember that…bad move

    • MGoTweeter

Who gives a f. They outplayed michigan. They can do what they want.

      • http://www.facebook.com/mbainbridge2 Mike Bainbridge

        Think long term

        • MGoTweeter

I would hope the bigger thing that michigan players remember Is that they missed a number if layups and settled for a bunch of bad shots. Those are far more important factors than anything olidipo did at the end of a game

          • Indiana_Matt

When you think about it, a 19 year old kid probably does get more emotionally pumped up and focused about a show of disrespect than contemplating ones own bad shot selection. I would hope they’d work on shot selection AND remember what he did. Jordan took everything personal, even imaginary things.

          • Indiana_Matt

Note: I live in Indiana. I am a Michigan fan. Don’t mistake my handle.

  • Joel_C

    Classy, Oladipo, classy

  • MGoTweeter

This team is not goin anywhere in the tournament with Burke playin like this.

    • gobluemd16

I usually agree with most things you say, and you are spot on about GRIII, he just didn’t come to play and didn’t have it tonight. I really, really disagree with this stuff about Burke. I know Trey dominated the ball and took a lot of shots, but we would have BEEN KILLED without him. His teammates did absolutely nothing outside of Tim and Mcgary (which can be attributed mostly to Trey’s play). He needed to control the ball for us to have any chance, especially with Nik and Glenn being awful tonight. He is the best PG in the country and was the one that ultimately even kept us in the game.

      • MGoTweeter

The best result is probably somewhere in the middle. It is a tought situation because the wound is fresh and it is easy to point fingers right now. I know that. I probably was too harsh on Burke in this thread.

However, I do believe that the way the team played tonight, Burke included, is not a sustainable offense. If that means that Burke has to pass on some shots, even though he is the only one on at the time, than so be it. This team will not win anything playing like they did tonight on offense. That is a fact. Who is to blame is certainly an open question, but to a fan it really does not matter. Results matter and that offense did not and will not get results. Indiana really did not play that well tonight. Some of that is to Michigan’s credit, but I am not sure how much.

I have no issue with the ball being in Burke’s hands at crunch time, because I know he is the best option for the team to make a shot on any given possession. But tonight, when it got under ten minutes, it felt like Burke took it all on himself. Again, who is to blame, I don;t know. I just know that it won’t work over a period of time. It is one game and I am sure the team will move on and will be in contention for the B1G title as it should. But they could have won this game with a little more poise on offense. Indiana was no where near the defensive team that Ohio was against Michigan, but Michigan just failed to effectively go thru their options.

  • Alex

We will grow from this and get better. I believe this will make us better in the long term. Props to Indiana and looking forward to getting them at Crisler.

  • Dave Pratt

Don’t blame Burke. The offense is the reason why forced shots take place. How about a double screen for Staukus or something for GR3. Still no post options in this offense beside pick and rolls. That will not get it done in the tourney. Defensive rotations are sloppy also. Especially on pick and rolls

    • jemblue

It’s not all his fault, but he definitely has too quick a trigger sometimes. Some of those threes were not great looks and occurred early in the shot clock.

      • Dave Pratt

Oh agreed! But for me Hardaway is extremely frustrating to watch. He is not a good defender no matter what anybody tries to say.

Burke has got in this dribble mode that can stall his game. In fact he is fakes himself out a lot of the time.
