Pre-Game Reading

Timmy looks terrible today; and the transition defense is even worse.

  • MGoTweeter

just cannot put this team away

  • MGoTweeter

great execution on three straight plays and three straight layups

  • gobluemd16

Nik Stauskas is so far superior to Vogrich, he has been absolutely awesome

  • David

This announcer is no Dan Dakich. He’s been kind of an ass.

    • Who is it again? I thought it said Bruce, but I originally thought it was Seth Greenberg?

      • MGoTweeter

        Bruce Pearl.

      • Bruce Pearl.

      • serious

It’s Bruce Pearl. I think he is a solid announcer.

  • David

I wonder if Horford and Vogrich got in a bit of trouble.

  • Matt Vogrich checks in for the first time with 3:57 to play.

  • MGoTweeter

    vogrich in

  • nice break with that call..

  • MGoTweeter

wtf michigan has to learn how to play with a lead. this is garbage

  • gobluemd16

What the hell is this. Literally embarrassing how much we let up, awful

  • CDeSana

Lets see what they run here; I will take Burke with less than 5 seconds on shot clock for $500

  • wkerridge

how many games you think it will take until we learn to not take our foot of the gas pedal. As soon as we went into bleed clock mode, we turned it over 4 times.

  • gobluemd16

Now we have to make free throws, you cannot get in this habit especially if it’s against a better team

  • CDeSana

Why did Stauskas not shoot the wide open 3 there?

  • MGoTweeter

wow that has to be an intentional foul. he had a breakaway and got grabbed from behind

  • DB

Timmy has just had an awful game.

  • this is a pathetic end to the game by this team. no other way to describe it

  • A2JD

Two games in a row that Michigan has let up and let the opponent make a game of it.

  • gobluemd16

Easy clear path/intentional and then timmy misses the free throw and gets beat on defense

    • angry fan

seriously, that was the definition of an intentional foul. Have to be kidding me. And then Bruce Pearl says he made a play on the ball. LOLOLOL, if grabbing someone’s shorts from behind is a play on the ball, then I’ll go dig a hole to crawl into and die

So tired of this “kill clock” offense… every time Michigan has done that this year the other team chips away at the lead.. they need to keep playing basketball as opposed to just trying to hold the ball for 32 seconds every possession… just not a good strategy

    • Mattski

Well, if they execute. . .

      • Adam

Problem is it’s very difficult to execute when you run a stall offense… the other 35 minutes of the game when a team forces you take a shot with under 5 on the shot clock it is a great defensive possession… the reason why? Because most of the time you are forced to take a shot that is not high percentage… plus the more time you spend with the ball, the more likely you are to turn it over…

I’m not saying shoot the ball in the first 10 seconds of the shot clock, but if there is 10-15 seconds left and you have an open shot you have to do it

      • Adam

The problem is the mentality… the coaches have to let the guys know that it is okay to take a wide open shot or a layup.. Stauskas needed to shoo the wide open 3 with 10 seconds left on the shot clock, but instead he had it ingrained in his head that he needs to kill clock so he passed it up and we didn’t score

  • Observer

    Pathetic

  • MGoTweeter

glad that is over. Michigan’s delay game has a long ways to go. Luckily they have had large leads the last couple games. I am all for using the clock to your advantage but they are passing up good shots in order to get late clock forced shots or turnovers.

  • Mich man

People are overreacting a bit here. If you thought this was going to be a blowout win for the first true road game of the season you obviously dont watch alot of college basketball. The team has still alot to learn but learning and doing it while winning on the road cannot be frowned upon. Go Blue

  • johnnyumfan

Stall offense is not working. Too much standing around and watching Burke dribble the ball. It is better to let them play and keep scoring when ahead.

  • A2JD

I hope to see a Michigan team that can put the nail in the coffin the next time they have a near blowout lead. GO BLUE!
