GO BLUE!!! Let’s do this!! BEAT OHIO!!

  • http://www.umhoops.com/ Dylan Burkhardt

Pitt handling Delaware in the first game, up 20 at the half. Delaware gave Kansas State a bit of a scare on Wednesday.

    • Chirs

So does that mean Michigan should be heavy favorites against K-State?

      • DingoBlue

As always, the transitive property doesn’t apply in sports.

        • JDR

          What about the associative property?

          • Chirs

            BINGO, hahaha

    Go Blue

  • CDeSana

What are the chances that Stauskas starts?

    • http://www.facebook.com/mbainbridge2 Mike Bainbridge

There’s no doubt he has been the better player over Vogrich by a mile. If not today, near future for sure

  • http://www.umhoops.com/ Dylan Burkhardt

Looks like tip off should be right around 5 p.m. 11:26 on the clock here at the Garden.

  • MGoTweeter

    Lets Go Blue!

  • cavort

I don’t have cable, where is a good place to stream?

  • http://www.facebook.com/mbainbridge2 Mike Bainbridge

Solid start. The rebounding so far has been OUTSTANDING

  • http://www.umhoops.com/ Dylan Burkhardt

Michigan doing a great job on the defensive glass early. KSU making it difficult on offense. 4-0 at first TV timeout.

  • Mattski

If they could hit the broad side of a barn we might be down ten.

  • MGoTweeter

Defense looks great. Forcing jump shots and getting a hand up then cleaning the glass

  • Chirs

    Release the Stauskas!!!

  • http://www.facebook.com/mbainbridge2 Mike Bainbridge

    WOW Stauskas!!!

  • JDR

Let me put my feelings nicely: I hope Akunne brings a lot of intangibles to the court…

  • http://www.umhoops.com/ Dylan Burkhardt

Beilein going deep on his bench. Eso was in the game, Horford and now Bielfeldt checking in.

    • Chirs

Sending a early message to the Big Ten and the TEAM, the TEAM, the TEAM

      • MGoTweeter

Also I think the short rest is a factor

  • A2JD

    Nikki Buckets from NBA range!

  • MGoTweeter

Michigan going deep in bench. Eso already and now bielfeldt checking in

    • MGoTweeter

Dang beaten to it. Dylan too quick

  • eddieben

Whats up with bartlestein? Player or asst coach these days?

    • A2JD

I think maybe walk-ons don’t usually travel but since he’s Captain, he’s with them.

      • Bobby Dennishaks

        Bartlestein is hurt

    • A2JD

I must be wrong. Person is dressed. Maybe Josh is hurt?

  • Mattski

Prediction: before all is said and done, Steve Nash will be the second best-known Canadian hoopster.

    • A2JD

      Andrew Wiggins?

      • Northern Blue

haha I was going to say the same thing. beat me to it. Stauskas is quite the weapon though

  • a2sk

I missed the tipoff. Did Morgan start? Haven’t seen him yet.

    • Wayman Britt

      he got a silly foul

  • iambill

Anybody have a link for tempo free stats?

  • JDR

I love that this team can compete athletically with anybody but is still able/willing to backdoor teams.

  • A2JD

TIMMAY has gotten a lot better at kniving through traffic.

  • http://www.umhoops.com/ Dylan Burkhardt

Tim is flat out a different player when driving to the basket. His finishing ability, in traffic, is light years better than it was last season.

  • MGoTweeter

Michigan now struggling on the glass. Love the post up for mcgary. Burke looks itchy to get a shot up; I bet a quick pull-up three is coming shortly

  • Mattski

Leaving a lot of points on the floor and still playing well. This team’s ceiling is high. Look forward to see them seven games from now, including McGary, who flashes some new skill with each passing game.

  • JDR

    BEHIND THE BACK!

    • Chirs

      FILTHY

  • JDR

It sure seems like we just need to keep going inside until their big guys foul out.

  • A2JD

Tim is playing like a MAN!

  • JDR

KSU is a fine team, but we are just much much better.

  • MGoTweeter

Just so many new combinations out there the offense has been unable to get any rthyme

    • Mattski

That’s my sense, too. Just takes time to cohere.

  • A2JD

Michigan is up 5 at the half despite getting almost nothing out of Trey.

I think that bodes well for the 2nd half.

  • http://www.umhoops.com/ Dylan Burkhardt

Michigan .99 PPP, KSU .83 PPP.
    UM: 48% eFG%, 25% OR Rate, 14% TO Rate, 38% FTA/FGA
    KSU: 31% eFG%, 33% OR Rate, 10% TO Rate, 28% FTA/FGA
29 possessions in the first half.

    • http://www.umhoops.com/ Dylan Burkhardt

Too many second chance points for KSU. Michigan struggling outside (1-6) but not settling. Hardaway has been the man and McGary gave some really productive minutes with Morgan on the bench.

  • http://www.umhoops.com/ Dylan Burkhardt

Half of Kansas State’s 24 first half points were second chance buckets.

  • johnnyumfan

Burke needs to get in gear, 0 points on 0 FG attempts.

    • http://www.umhoops.com/ Dylan Burkhardt

And Michigan is up five. He sat for a while with the two fouls though.

  • Steve2081

Burke is missing way too many guys on the pick and roll so far.

  • http://www.umhoops.com/ Dylan Burkhardt

There’s a little energy.. Michigan opens an 11 point lead with some good play in transition.

    • JDR

Dylan – any idea how this team is doing compared to last year in terms of forcing turnovers? Seems like we got a lot more transition baskets last year than this year so far, but I may be misremembering.

      • http://www.umhoops.com/ Dylan Burkhardt

Actually doing a pretty bad job of forcing turnovers this year. A lot of Michigan’s transition play has come off of defensive rebounding and pushing as much as clean turnovers.

        • JDR

That was my guess – I wonder if there are any statistics on the transition point difference between a def. rebound and turnover.

    • Wayman Britt

      yep lots more energy

  • A2JD

    TIMMAY!!!!

  • Chirs

Hardaway learned that killer cross-over from his daddy, wooooo!

  • MGoTweeter

    Wow hardaway

  • JDR

    The Timmy show!

  • CoryR

Fantastic to be playing a great half like this going into Tuesday!

  • JDR

    It’s…it’s beautiful…

  • http://www.umhoops.com/ Dylan Burkhardt

Michigan stretching the lead to 49-30 with 11:35 to play in the second. Outscoring KSU 20-6 in 2nd half. This is fun to watch.

  • Mattski

    Wow.

  • MGoTweeter

    Save some for ncst boys

  • MGoTweeter

    Poor morgan

  • http://www.umhoops.com/ Dylan Burkhardt

Hardaway looked like he banged the side of his head, walking off the court.

    • MGoTweeter

Hit back/side of head on kstate players knee

  • Mattski

    Minnesota beat #29 Memphis 84-75.

    • Mattski

#19 Memphis; gets them to 5-1 on the year. Guess I don’t get to edit if i con’t go Disqus?
