Photo Gallery: September Crisler Center Renovation Updates

Crisler Construction Update 9-19-12 - 5
Foster Specialty Floors has been tasked with perhaps the most underrated aspect of the construction projects in and around Crisler Center over the last several months and years: the actual basketball playing surface. Those projects include practice facility courts, a brand new playing surface inside of Crisler and even locker room medallions created out of the previous Crisler surface which served from 1967 through 2012. The guys at Foster provided some insight, and behind the scenes photos, of the construction process.

Our photo gallery after the jump not only features a step-by-step slideshow of the floor and medallion process but also several updated shots of the Crisler Center west concourse and exterior.

Very neat process…perhaps my memory is failing me, but I thought we got a brand new floor as part of last year’s renovations as well. I’m guessing that wasn’t the case though, they must have just re-painted it.

    • Pretty sure it was re-surfaced, not ripped down all the way.

      • The floor was sanded down and repainted last year. This year it was completely torn out and replaced.

That came from Vidal Massiah via Kyle Boganschutz BTW.

interesting – I’m surprised they’re even looking at Hastings. He seems like a shorter Cameron (?) and I think we’re looking good at the wing position and have good prospects down the road.

Glad they’re targeting Craig – I think we could use a “big” in the 2014 class. He’s tall and moves well.
