Mitch McGary to represent Team USA in Nike Hoop Summit

402726_312772068781009_124628940928657_894665_924130900_n[1]2012 Michigan commitment Mitch McGary has been selected as one of 10 players to represent the United States as part of the USA Basketball Men’s Junior National Select Team in the Nike Hoop Summit.

The event will feature Team USA facing a World Select Team comprised of top U19 players from the around the world. The game will take place on April 7th at the Rose Garden in Portland, OR.

McGary will also be participating in the All American Championship in New Orleans on April 1st along with fellow Michigan commitment Glenn Robinson III.

    That’s also a very talented team. According to ESPN’s rankings, it is the #4,15,11,22,2,1,23,21,14,5 ranked players respectively.

    To add to a friend’s point, it appears McGary has seen good competition despite not being an offensive focus for his team and will certainly play with good competition here. I trust he’ll play well and boost his ranking, although when it comes down to it the main thing is how he performs in college! He could start and improve our PF position in consistency and ability, with Smotz playing a huge role off the bench next year.
