Drew Ellis of the Morning Sun has been all over the Trey Zeigler recruitment and Ernie Zeigler contract situation. His most recent scoop is that Ernie Zeigler’s contract extension with Central Michigan has been finalized and will be officially announced later today. The extension is for four more years and has a base salary around $200,000.
Ellis also reports that Zeigler will announce his college decision next week:
In Trey Zeigler news, he has pushed back his announcement for his college choice to next week. He still insists five schools remain on his list. They are Michigan, MSU, CMU, UCLA, and Arizona State. A visit to ASU may be what pushed the decision back a week as sources tell me Trey is visiting the Sun Devils this weekend.
Zeigler’s announcement will be during a press conference at his high school but no official date has been set. This recruitment has certainly been a journey but it looks like the end is drawing near. Zeigler shot down any rumors that he had narrowed his list in a tweet yesterday.
