Shocker - Agent expects former Michigan basketball guard Manny Harris to be in Cleveland Cavaliers camp
Hopefully he makes the team but it’s tough to earn a roster spot without a contract going into training camp. The good news is that the Cavs seem to like him, taking him this far when Harris has missed most of the summer with an ankle injury. - Recruiting 101: Harris Talks Recruiting
Michigan is trying to get Harris up for a visit with his family. MSU landing Costello throws an interesting twist in Harris’ recruitment. MSU is technically out of scholarships for the time being but most assumed that the Spartans were in a good spot for Harris. - Hoops: Pangos recruitment picking up ($)

- In case you missed it… Joe interviewed Nick Stauskas and Denzel Valentine about their unofficial visits to Michigan.
- John Beilein didn’t just launch his own website, he also started tweeting. It’s a social media revolution.
- Chris Allen was kicked off the Michigan State basketball team. As always, KJ has quality analysis. My gut reaction: Keith Appling went from luxury talent to necessary contributor – personally, I think he’s up for it.
- The 2013 trio of Basil Smotherman, Devin Davis and Zak Irvin were interviewed by Joe Eberhardt, all three are serious targets with mutual interest and Zak Irvin has already made an unofficial.
- Gary Harris, Yogi Ferrell, Jeremy Hollowell, and the aforementioned trio are mentioned in this recap of the Merilville End of Season showdown.
- Kevin Pangos and Nick Stauskas are listed among Crown Magazine’s list Canadian players that are “breaking out”.
- A breakdown of Yogi Ferrell’s summer performances.
- Kansas will play at Michigan on January 9th at 12:30 or 3:30 p.m. Many schedules are being leaked and released around the country so I wouldn’t be surprised to learn more about Michigan’s schedule in the coming days and weeks. For now, this is what we have.
- Former Michigan target Rod Days committed to UCF.
- ND, Purdue, Indiana and Butler are planning a double header at Conseco in 2011 or 2012.
Nick Stauskas shows off his handle on the AAU circuit
- The Michigan coaching staff was rolling deep in Merrillville, IN last night. Beilein and two assistants (the most allowed recruiting at once) were out to watch Yogi Ferrell, who was playing with the Indiana Elite 16s. The trio also was in the gym to watch the Eric Gordon All Stars 15U squad that features a trio of 2013 prospects in Zak Irvin, Basil Smotherman, and Devin Davis. You can read Joe Eberhardt’s (Follow him on twitter!) full scouting report here. 2013 Demetrius Jackson also mentioned that Michigan is recruiting him heavily.
- As we mentioned earlier this week, Michigan paid very close attention to Marcus Paige at the AAU Nationals in Orlando. They had three coaches watched him earlier in the week and still had an assistant coach in the stands on Wednesday. Paige is a top five point guard nationally.
- TJ Kelley posted a free article on GoBlueWolverine with more notes from Orlando including a cameo appearance by Carlton Brundidge, who played with the Detroit Fire.
- 2012 guard Michael Frazier reportedly has a Michigan offer. Frazier has been playing very well this July and we are trying to find out where Michigan stands in his recruitment.
- The REACH Legends faced off with Team Detroit out in California and REACH came away with the victory. Jalen Reynolds had a near triple double with 14 points, 13 rebounds, and 8 blocks.
- Bacari Alexander wants 1,000 followers before practice starts or he’s going to delete his twitter account. Step up.
- We’ll have JaVontae Hawkins video later today
- Thanks to Brian W for posting a number of these notes and links in the comments.
