Michigan offers 2019 guard Mark ‘Rocket’ Watts Jr.

Dylan Burkhardt

Michigan extended a scholarship offer to Mark ‘Rocket’ Watts Jr. today.

Watts is the second prospect that Michigan has offered in the 2019 class along with Clarkston big man Taylor Currie, who committed earlier today.

Watts is a 6-foot-2, 180 pound combo guard from Old Redford Academy who plays for The Family on the Nike EYBL circuit. He’s ranked 152nd nationally according to 247 Sports Composite rankings.

The dude is 6-2 and 180 pounds, but the caption says he’s 5-11, 158 pounds. Is he a chameleon?

That was a year ago. He’s probably grown since then.

Must be speedy and quick with the nickname “Rocket”.

He says he is a John Wall without the dunking? So maybe not 6ft2?

    • He was measured at 5-11, 158 with no shoes last year around this time. That means he’s over 6 foot with shoes and has probably grown in the last 12 months. He should be measured at Nike Elite 100 which will give us another data point.
