Report: Shakwon Barrett to visit Michigan on Friday

Dylan Burkhardt

Class of 2017 guard Shakwon Barrett is set to make his second visit to Michigan on Friday.

Barrett previously visited Michigan for the Wolverines’ win over Purdue in February. Per Daniel’s report, he’s also planning visits to Arkansas and Tulane (his first Division I offer).

Barrett is a Canadian guard who previously attended Findlay Prep and is playing his post-graduate year at Tech Academy. We’ve put together some updated film (above) from this season of the 6-foot-4 guard who appears to be a wiry combo guard with the ability to the get to the basket.

He can shoot it with a hand in his face too. As an aside, having been blasted over a couple of stages back in the day, I hate the sight of those suckers at the end of the floor.

Looks alot like Greg Elliott to me, can he defend like Elliott?

Very few kids can play college defense coming out of high school. It’s up to the coaches to teach them to play defense.

Which made him a better prospect

He looks like a solid player, but I think I’d rather use the scholarship next year on the grad transfer and save the long term scholarship for the 2018 crop of guards/wings
