  • malcolm bolt

Swiss Cheese defense. Just so many holes.

  • umnyc

Was that 3 offensive rebounds and 3 points for N, with 3 fouls called on M in one possession?

  • Michigan at 1.28 PPP, Nebraska at 1.24 PPP at 2H U8. Another defense optional game featuring the Wolverines.

  • moenice

How can we win on the road with defense like this?

  • MaizeBlue10

Two stops on two possessions of Moe playing off on the pick

  • Wayman Britt

    DW good than bad

    • malcolm bolt

Very bipolar by Walton. A series of a couple good plays than super bad plays.

    • Then good again.

    • CTG

the story of our seniors… irvin and Walton… they giveth and they taketh away

    • bobohle

      Then good again.

  • jemblue

    We’ve scored 69 points in 34 minutes and we’re in a dogfight…

    • Champswest

      So, nothing has changed.

  • Champswest

5 minute mark up by 4. Here we go.

  • Champswest

    Chance for free points.

  • moenice

    DWALT

  • Wayman Britt

    Let’s just keep hitting FT

  • malcolm bolt

    Walton is an enigma, man.

  • jemblue

As bad as we are defensively, our opponents seem to drain a crazy number of heat check shots.

    • MaizeBlue10

Yeah those are “tip your cap” shots. Defense was fine on those makes

  • tom48160

Ugh, Mo with the moving screen…

    • MGoTweeter

Couldn’t tell but thought that was on Derrick. Never let Wagner get set before he started dribbling that way

      • Miscommunication either way. THink both guys are to blame there at least.

  • MGoTweeter

The ups and downs of Derrick Walton. Feels like watching his entire career play out over the last five minutes.

    • Wayman Britt

      True that

  • Wayman Britt

We have blown two stops on defense with no buckets on the other end

  • Kellen Hayes

    Well I’ll be damned mo

  • Wayman Britt

    That watson is good

  • MGoTweeter

Yea Watson and Webster are both terrific offensive players

  • jemblue

We’ve settled for a lot of 3’s lately. We’re in the double-bonus and should work on getting to the line.

  • Wayman Britt

    nice play on defense end

  • MGoTweeter

    Just make your free throws

  • jemblue

College basketball shouldn’t allow these timeouts after made baskets. They make the last minute drag on too long.

    • Good news is NEB is out TO I believe.

    • CTG

      agreed. it has gotten ridiculous

  • Champswest

Took them 10 seconds to score. At that rate, there is too much time left.

  • Champswest

That was close to an intentional foul. Fouled a guy on a break away.

  • MaizeBlue10

Loved the adjustment to have the big play back on the screen. That helped lead to the stops and tough makes.

That’s all I was hoping for if they switched that screen altogether.

  • bobohle

    We’re going to hold on!

  • jemblue

When you’re up 6-8 points, you should just play normal defense. The matador afraid-of-fouling stuff isn’t necessary.

  • Champswest

That time they scored in about 7 seconds. I would say go to a zone to stop the drive, but sure that would work.

    • They are kind of going to some sort of zone. Not sure what it is exactly. Not working.

  • TOTO-Lover

No problem. Just score 90+ every game rest of the way

  • MLaw

By RPI, that was our second best win of the season- Nebraska was at 49 today according to ESPN.

    • MaizeBlue10

That’s the blessing and curse of the conference this year. Only Rutgers is a bad loss but not many opportunities for top 25 RPI wins.

  • bobohle

    Good gutsy win.

  • Champswest

We won the last 5 minutes by 2 points. Yea!

    • Champswest

But, would that be enough points in most games?

  • MGoTweeter

At this point, I’m not gonna complain about that. Team definitely played hard but still lots of problems on d and would like to see more of a rotation.

  • jemblue

Well, we stopped the bleeding. Gotta steal a couple of the next few now.

  • moenice

    I’ll take the W.

    • Kevin Dale

In Chicago did not see much. Just good to get the W

  • Indiana_Matt

    A win! Go Blue!

  • bobohle

Walton and Irvin show at the end again. Hope it continues.

  • AAtoLA

Aside from a couple careless turnovers, Walton had his best game this season. He was decisive and hunted for his shots. A couple big defensive steals too. Great game DWalt. Use this game as a template moving forward. Love the aggressiveness. Go blue!
