Michigan breaks into Top 25 with 4-0 start

Dylan Burkhardt

Michigan is ranked for the first time since last November’s home loss to Xavier.

The Wolverines broke into the AP Top 25, just barely. Michigan and Florida State are tied for the last spot in the rankings with 89 votes a piece.

Other ranked Big Ten teams include Indiana (3), Wisconsin (16), Purdue (17), and Michigan State (24). Future non-conference opponents UCLA (14) and Texas (22) are also ranked in the AP Top 25. Check out the full AP Top 25 poll here.

Michigan is also ranked in the USA Today Coaches poll, checking in 21 spots higher than last week at No. 24.

Indiana (5), Wisconsin (14), Purdue (19), Michigan State (20) and Maryland (23) are also ranked from the Big Ten. Find the full USA Today Coaches Poll here.

Kind of hilarious that we are behind MSU (among a few others), but these polls really mean nothing, especially this early in the season.

MSU will slowly move its way out of the rankings. By slowly, I mean 7 days from now they will not be ranked.

And IZZO will still be intimidating the refs.

and then they’ll storm back in during conference play as they always do. Izzo is one of the GOAT… Beilein is an amazing coach in his own right. We can not say enough about his move to bring in a de facto “defensive coordinator.” It’s amazing that he’s evolving his methods at this late in his career.

I think the last two wins that were Nationally Televised showed our aggressive defensive improvement along with the continued growth of the players; especially Wilson, Donnal and Wagner along with the Senior leadership of Irvin and Walton. It seemed most times last year on the national TV,the Wolverines got embarrassed. I truly believe this season will be different. Have you been watching this Mo Bamba? It’s great to be a Michigan Wolverine!
