Michigan point guard Derrick Walton Jr. was named to the Preseason All-Big Ten team this afternoon.

Michigan point guard Derrick Walton Jr. was named to the Preseason All-Big Ten team this afternoon.

His inclusion marks the fifth straight year that a Wolverine was named to the Preseason All-Big Ten team. Caris LeVert earned those honors in 2014-15 and 2015-16, Mitch McGary and Glenn Robinson III were on the team in 2013-14 and Trey Burke in 2012-13.

Walton averaged 11.6 points, 5.4 rebounds and 4.5 assists per game last season and recorded the fifth triple-double in Michigan program history.
