John Beilein extended a scholarship offer to class of 2017 wing Jamal Cain today during his full unofficial visit.

The news was confirmed by MLive’s Brendan Quinn.

Cain has impressed on Nike’s Elite Youth Basketball circuit this spring, averaging 13 points and five rebounds per game to lead The Family. He also averaged 26 points, 16 rebounds and four assists per game for Detroit Cornerstone, earning Class C All-State honors.

Cain is regarded as a 3-star prospect and is ranked 190th nationally according to 247Sports’ Composite Rankings. The 6-foot-7 forward discussed Michigan’s interest and his development in an article earlier today.

Michigan currently holds one commitment, from shooting guard Jordan Poole, and has outstanding offers to Ohio forward Kyle Young and Indiana forward Jaren Jackson. The Wolverines should have at least three or four scholarships to give in the 2017 class depending on how the roster shakes out.
