Michigan and Purdue are set for a 2:00 p.m. tip-off at the Crisler Center this afternoon. Michigan senior  Caris LeVert participated in early shooting drills for the first time since his lower left leg injury in the Big Ten opener against Illinois, a day after John Beilein said he ‘wasn’t ready’ to play. Previously, Beilein has said that when LeVert warms up, you’ll know he’s playing.

Caris still showed his driving and passing. Even rebounded. Guy is good. If he’s hurting hold off. Rahkman is on a roll. Love rahkman. All big ten next year. Mark it

With this win it will allow them to slowly bring Caris along – not that they wouldn’t have anyway, but this win was the missing piece for the NCAAs.

I will eat my crow happily. The other day watching the MSU game I was as down on this team as I ever was. This win…this signature win is unreal. I think they missed something like 17 of 19 FG attempts at one point and wouldn’t go away. I was screaming at Irving in the first half and watching him take over in the second was great to see. Walton, who couldn’t buy a bucket, just doesn’t stop competing. Doyle played huge minutes today as well – great hussle plays again from MAAR…just a great grind them out win.

Beilein’s teams have generally shown good resilience. They’ll have a stinker of a performance now and then but they bounce back. For all the highs and lows this season, here we are at 9-4 and ahead of MSU and Purdue in the standings.

Without Levert that is a special accomplishment. Handle business the rest of the way and work on that Big Ten Tourney seed.

They have potential. The way they touched it out and attacked was awesome. They can go to the rack better then they think. Attack and it will open everything they want to do.

      100% agree

Love the commenters who threw the towel in with 3 mins to go in the game. That’s the way to grind it out and win when you don’t have your best. Love him or hate him, Irvin is the motor of this team and the only one who gets the guys going with his enthusiasm.
