Michigan is on the road tonight at Minnesota looking to break a two-game losing streak against the 0-11 Gophers. Reports out of Minneapolis are that the Wolverines are on the floor for warmups and Caris LeVert is not.

Tip-off is scheduled for 9 p.m. on the Big Ten Network with former Wolverine Zack Novak scheduled as a special guest in studio. Join the discussion in the comments section below.

Three straight trips Michigan running the same action straight from the msu playbook. All three times got good looks.

    • jemblue

Amazing the game is that close with that monster shooting differential.

      • bleedblue

Free throws. And free throws shouldnt be killing us this bad, but we are shooting them terribly

  • MGoTweeter

    Donnal misses two big opportunities

    • Wayman Britt

Plus he had three earlier. You cannot keep giving up those points.

  • jemblue

    COME ON.

  • bleedblue

The rest of the team cant see what Dwalt sees

  • Cory

    WTF Donnal?

  • mpbear14

I can’t handle this crap anymore.

  • mpbear14

    Swiss cheese is back

  • Wow. This would be a horrific loss.

  • MGoTweeter

Rahk wth was that? Can’t get beat clean on a close out to a guy fifteen feet from the basket

    • bleedblue

      completely ignored scouting report

  • MGoBlueAdam

How can they possibly be so bad defensively?

    • mpbear14

defensive drills are just a small portion of JB’s practices.

      • MGoTweeter

U know this how? (Just wondering if ur guessing)

        • mpbear14

I’ve attended two. My brother has attended a couple. My college roommate has attended a dozen or so.

          • MAZS

Beilein has consistently stated to the contrary

          • mpbear14

Of course he has. Coach’s lie to the media my friend.

JB spends about 10-15 minutes a practice on defensive rotations. That’s it. The rest is shooting drills,
Individual drills that fit the offense, scrimmages/situations and finishes with scouting report for up coming opponent.

          • MAZS

Wow Sorry, I’m certainly not going to take the word of a internet poster who attended two practices. A prior paid contributor to this blog has told me differently. But I’ll let Dylan and Zack weigh in.

          • mpbear14

            Cool.

          • Tuff Enough

I believe it because my eyes do not tell a lie and I have been teaching and playing sports for awhile now. its bad and I see no getting better at all. 3s do not fall and they will not win period.

  • jemblue

I’m sorry to say it, but this is why I was nervous even with that double-digit lead. We’ve shown pretty much zero ability to get key stops this year.

  • Chezaroo

These next 90 seconds is our season

  • Andrew

So the closeouts on this team….

  • Under The Bridge

Wow. The missed free throws loom large. ugh.

  • MGoTweeter

Way to make up for it rahk. Nice hard drive

    • mpbear14

He took that last possession personal

  • Wayman Britt

    Irvin is playing terrible

  • Andrew

It might be team to bring in a defensively minded coach….

  • Cory

Someone got tough and made a play. Thanks Rahk.

  • MEL

Zak playing tenative and scared, MAAR at least went to the hole

  • three_goggles

Lucky…did JB really just draw up an Irvin isolation out of that timeout?

  • jemblue

    Finally we go up strong!

  • MEL

MAAR just won the game for us

  • bleedblue

Rich wants a travel, but Dwalt and Rahk got fouled in that sequence

  • Under The Bridge

    50% free throws. Appalling.

    • bleedblue

50% FT will lose you so many games that you should win

      • Under The Bridge

I’m still scarred from the Indiana game where missed free throws cost us a conference championship a couple years back.

        • bleedblue

It’s easy to ignore the team going 1/2 the whole game, until the end of the game when it should be a 10 point game instead of a 5 point game

    • jemblue

The only guys I really feel comfortable with at the stripe are Robinson and Walton.

  • MGoTweeter

    Great hustle rahk.

  • Mattski

    Pitino knew he was bs’ing.

  • MEL

    Phew

  • Cory

I’ll take any B1G road win, but come on. Can we close at least one out strong this year?

    • Under The Bridge

I won’t exhale till it is all zeros. I’ve been nervous about this game all week.

  • MGoTweeter

    Wow dawkins

  • MEL

Guess that’s why Dawkins wasn’t in for zak

    • bleedblue

I immediately feel dumb for having suggested it

  • Chezaroo

No worries Mate!! Can we man up come Saturday, or does the season narrative continue?

    • jemblue

We’ve got to get Caris back to win that one.

    • Champswest

Purdue should be ripe for an upset coming off that overtime barnburner win over MSU. But, I don’t know if we are up to the task. Need to play a lot smarter and with more intensity.

  • Mattski

    Dawkins my god.

    • gobluemd16

It wasn’t a foul. I am not even mad about that one, besides the referee.

  • Under The Bridge

Well. Still no bad losses on the resume.

  • mpbear14

A win is a win. Keeps us alive.

  • MGoTweeter

Well they all count the same. Love the way the team came out tonight after last week. Hopefully they learn something from the mini collapse late. Get healthy caris, keep playing this way Walton and rahk keep makin threes.

    • jemblue

“Mini-collapse” might be understating things, considering Minny was down 70-53 and cut it to 74-72…

      • MGoTweeter

Yeah probably but can’t really say collapse since they still held on. Partial collapse? Near collapse?

    • Tuff Enough

Whats with Caris still, they said he was at practice and played for an hr, without pain.

  • Mattski

I should not have to go to the baby aspirin in a game like that.

    • Chezaroo

      Whiskey

  • bleedblue

So, even when we are up by 15 and playing decent-enough defense, our success entirely depends on whether or not we are making 3s. As soon as the 3s dried up, the offense lost all rhythm and the defense started playing like it knew that the game could be lost. We have to be able to find motivation for continued defensive effort, outside of draining 3s.

  • Champswest

Irvin with 4 points on 1 for 8 shooting, 2 rebounds and 4 turnovers. Does he have the flu?

    • mpbear14

He was hobbling a little when he would get off the bench and go check in.

    • bobohle

He didn’t look like he was moving real well for sure.

  • Champswest

Robinson was 4/7 from three. Maybe this will get him going again.

  • Under The Bridge

In the new 14-team Big 10 seven teams will probably make it to the dance. At this point we have no bad losses and one “good” win. We need the Iowa and Maryland and Indiana to absolutely maul the middle of the conference and keep us in the above 8th place

    • Tuff Enough

That would be Two “Good” wins there big boy. Texas and Maryland in the eyes of the press.
