Irvin’s lack of athleticism is killing us

    • Steven Feller

His comments after Indiana were discouraging. He was saying how things don’t go their way they get down…I think he is a big part of that. With Caris he is the leader and I am not sure that is a good role for him.

    • CTG

Mental toughness more so. He makes a bad TO and that takes a silly foul. Can’t come back with plays like that.

  • MGoTweeter

I like some of the action Michigan is running this half but not making anything at this point. Need to run something to get some easy twos.

  • A2MIKE

    Game over…. Dakich is in

    • moenice

      Sad!

  • MGoTweeter

So frustrating right now. Forbes has contributed nothing to this game except spot up shooting. Unfortunately that’s made all the difference.

  • moenice

    Garbage time

  • MGoTweeter

Walton stop taking pull-up twos early in the clock pleas

    • A2MIKE

He is Keith appling but he plays for us

  • Steven Feller

without another quality win this team will be hosting NIT games…that is frustrating

    • mpbear14

      That was expected.

    • MGoTweeter

? They only need to win three more games and they will make the ncaa

      • Steven Feller

Correct…Northwestern and at Minnesota are must haves. Do you see another win on the schedule right now? They have been run out of their own gym two straight games.

        • MGoTweeter

Sure I see plenty of opportunities for wins. People were saying after smu how this team would not win five games in the big ten. How’d that work out?

          • Steven Feller

That is what is so frustrating – we haven’t seen the effort they had against Maryland on the home floor since. The Nebraska game was great to watch, but they can’t take a punch – if they get hit they run away.

          • Steven Feller

They have used the schedule to their advantage and the Indiana then Michigan State at home was another huge opportunity to get a win. If they would have won of these two games they are in the dance. Right now with the effort I am worried about Minnesota.

          • mpbear14

Who said they wouldn’t win 5 games? Haha. Come on man. Come down to reality. This team is middle of the pack and declining.

    • Wayman Britt

I am not giving up the NCAA tourney yet, but UM has to get some things together fast.

  • mpbear14

Warde just sent the “come see me” email to JB.

    • MGoTweeter

No he didn’t. Jees some of you guys

      • Steven Feller

It is hard not to be frustrated. I know JB is frustrated too – they are 25+ games in to the season and people are still get lost defensively and the lack of effort is hard to watch

      • mpbear14

Warde is the ultimate competitor. You better believe if things don’t improve by the end of the non conference next year, that email will be coming.

    • A2MIKE

I don’t think that will happen. However, JB needs to do some adapting and it starts with more defense, less playing through Walton

    • Tony DeMaria

He’s not even in the remote realm of consideration for being fired. At all. But it has been trending in the wrong direction lately. You want to at least strive for a program that makes the tourney nearly every year. Yes it’s difficult to blame Beilein for his best player to miss 75% of the past 2 seasons, but there are plenty of teams that can make the tourney without their best player. We might not be able to.

      • mpbear14

Like I said, that come see me email will be the conversation that lets JB know, what’s taking place isn’t acceptable. Then he will go from there.

  • moenice

    Embarrassing…..

  • Carl

We’ve been blown out way to much. Could be sweating it out come selection Sunday..

  • CTG

This is what happens when you don’t have a bench. Players continue to make mistakes/lack of plays but JB has no one to substitute

    • jemblue

To be fair, it’s hard to lose two members of your backcourt to injury and still have depth there.

  • Rich74

Face it, we just wasted an hour and a half of our lives. Time to do something productive.

  • jemblue

We simply have to get LeVert back. This team is just too one-dimensional offensively without him. We’ve done well to record seven conference wins so far but getting the next few looks like a chore sans Caris.

    • MGoTweeter

      Definitely need levert back stat

      • Steven Feller

Is he coming back? Honestly, with no timetable set it is becoming harder to see him returning. I know he has been running and shooting, but just starting to get worried.

  • polisci

Like a 4 year old left at the mall, our team is lost and scared out there.

  • GoBlueMT

    Goodbye tournament. Team falling apart.

  • bobohle

I ‘m sorry but the coaches have to start taking the blame. Looks like a give up from the last two plays.

    • mpbear14

      Be careful

  • A2MIKE

Wow, traveling might as well be taken out of the rule book

    • Chillax

      Chillax… (wink)

  • Tony DeMaria

Caris or not, tourney teams don’t get blown off their home floor 3 times in a season. Well maybe on rare occasions but it’s not a good sign at all. People are going to start realizing that while we don’t have a bad loss, we only have 2 quality wins. If we do get a bad loss, then suddenly our resume starts to crumble.

    • A2MIKE

I worry about our next game, Minny will be hungry

    • jemblue

68 teams make the tournament. There will be a lot of so-so teams in that group. Margin of victory/defeat is not really the concern. Just winning enough games is what matters. I get the sense that the current squad is running out of gas and it needs the lift that LeVert’s return would bring.

      • AA7596

68 get in but that’s counting the low-major auto bids that have nothing to do with us. You really have to be one of the top 45-50 teams in the country to get an at-large berth.

RPI is highly flawed, obviously, but ours is sinking like a rock. 56th now (was 29th before IU).

  • Carl

We have a few good wins.. Just been blew off the planet to much. Not good come March. Don’t look good when you don’t compete….

    • mpbear14

Texas has a brutal stretch ahead of them. We need them to finish .500 the rest of the way. We need that win to be more than quality. We also need to win 1 more outside of minny and northwestern. I don’t see that happening. If it does, we will still be sweating it out.

  • Carl

The blowouts are mind boggling to me. Haven’t seen us not compete like this.. Think it’s a leadership and character issue..

    • mpbear14

It’s a coaching issue. Stop the scapegoating.

  • Wayman Britt

One positive of this game has been UM is playing hard. They don’t have the same foot speed, talent or strength as MSU, but playing hard.

    • mpbear14

We are down almost 30. Put the koolaide down.

    • bobohle

      You are right about that.

  • Carl

Texas win could be the savior.. A loss at Minnesota could be a disaster. No margin for error. Think we need to hit 21 wins. RPI is not good. Not enough good wins yet.

  • Steven Feller

Gotta run thanks for letting me vent, ha ha.

  • MGoTweeter

Haha. Didn’t matter this game but gotta love the refs calling moving screens after the game is over. Could have called those last two all game long if they wanted.

    • mstein23

      Yup. All game long.

      • JohnNavarreIsMyHero

Funny how we seem to get docked on a lot of minuscule stuff while its let go most of the way for other teams. Just a joke.

  • Carl

Agreed. Tourney teams don’t get wooped like this..

  • bobohle

No matter what I will still be watching and rooting. I’ve been true BLUE since 1964!

  • Chezaroo

forget about predicting potential future wins going forward. This team is shell shocked and has zero confidence right now. It will take some serious introspection for them to right this ship. We are not trending the right way at all.

    • bobohle

That will be the coaches responsibility.
