Penn State coach Pat Chambers diagnosed his team’s second loss to Michigan, focusing on the Nittany Lions’ improved pick-and-roll defense but citing the lackluster transition defense as the difference in the game. Hear from the Nittany Lion head coach in the attached media player.

    Lol, you listen to Chambers and he really thought that he had us. I never for one moment thought the game was in jeopardy.

    • Did find that kind of interesting. I guess you just look for ways to be positive at this point. They definitely improved on the first performance despite missing some guys. Like Pat Chambers, but he’s in a tough spot.

        It seemed like the game was a big deal for PSU – it was certainly louder than I remember any game in Bryce Jordan, even the ones we lost. Granted, the crowd was half Michigan fans, but there was a lot of interest from PSU fans. I watched a few minutes of Big Ten Live last night and there seemed to be a large group of tipsy Nits in whatever sports bar it was they used as a set.

        Looks like they have a good class coming in, and Chambers seems to be focusing on developing his underclassmen at the expense of some of his seniors; I think he’s working hard at ensuring he gets a few years with this group before the fan base starts reaching for the torches and pitchforks.

          That’s all good and well, but like several of the less tenured coaches in this league, he has to become a better in game coach.
