Michigan is in Iowa City this afternoon in search of its first road win over the Hawkeyes since 2011.  Tip-off is scheduled for 4:30 p.m. with Jon Crispin and Jeff Levering on the call for the Big Ten Network.

For the fourth consecutive Big Ten game, Caris Levert is absent in warmups and not expected to play with a lower leg injury.

They need Someone to catch pass in middle of that zone near the free throw line

  • Wayman Britt

Iowa is just deadly shooting tough shots.

  • MGoTweeter

Killer threes. Gotta find some offense and weather the run. Iowa will give it back if the offense can keep pace

  • Chezaroo

B1G all time names, ex Indiana player Peter Jurkin and Mr. Peter Jok

    • Chillax

We get it ur on Twitter bro…ur Killen my feed

  • noiandoasndinsa

totally unprepared for that zone defense. hopefully Beilein can coach them up quick during this timeout.

    • Had some really good zone possessions earlier I thought. Rough stretch over the last 3 minutes though.

      • asjdasdopais

well that’s good to hear. I’ve been watching on and off.

  • bobohle

Irvin another turnover and loses his man on D.

  • three_goggles

iowa’s streaky…survive this one then come back with a run of our own

  • MGoTweeter

    Man missed layups today

  • moenice

    Rough stretch!

  • Burke_Does_Work

We seem to have the propensity to fight back, just to let the other team hit a corner 3 dagger to stop all of our momentum

  • Wayman Britt

    Donnal walked

  • Wayman Britt

    Iowa just making unbelievable shots.

  • Chezaroo

Uhl is gonna be so nice

  • Some big time shot making by Iowa. Several U-M breakdowns, but also just some really good shots by Iowa.

  • MGoTweeter

Except for the handful of blown switches today, I’ve been impressed with the d. Problem is you combine those mistakes with the missed layups and live ball turnovers on offense and you find yourself right where Michigan is.

    • jakelam2116

Add in some offensive rebounds for Iowa, and coming back is pretty daunting.

      • MGoTweeter

Definitely been some big missed rebounds but I havnt had a big issue with the rebounding today

  • MAZS

Uhl looks like the real deal–at least based on the last two games. He may be option 1 next year–though Jok has shooting skills.

  • Burke_Does_Work

I don’t dislike Iowa, but their players definitely have some of the more punchable faces in the B1G.

    • WolverineInWI

      Along with Michigan State 😂

  • jemblue

The turnover difference is the real killer. Iowa has taken great care of the ball and we’ve been uncharacteristically sloppy.

    • MAZS

agree–usually the opposite when we play them

  • Wayman Britt

    Needed that one

  • MGoTweeter

Duncan Robinson can play defense too!

  • jakelam2116

Has anyone else seen the 3 fouls on Robinson this half?

    • MGoTweeter

That last one was definitely a foul. But he did get the phantom no contact one earlier

  • Chezaroo

    Heckuva an effort today

  • Cheap call on Duncan Robinson off the ball is going to send Jarrod Uthoff to the line.

  • Burke_Does_Work

In hindsight, it was good because Dawkins hit a 3, but we are seriously missing out on free points because of the lack of alley-oopers in transition. When he had GRIII and Hardaway, those transition plays were a free 2 almost every time.

  • three_goggles

No Irvin for the final stretch is interesting

    • Wayman Britt

      He was turning ball over

    • jemblue

      He’s -18 today.

  • jakelam2116

    Jok & Uhl

  • Burke_Does_Work

    Corner dagger right on key

  • Wayman Britt

    What percent is iowa shooting

  • Burke_Does_Work

    Donnal’s stone hands returns

  • Chezaroo

Turnovers killed us today. And Iowa has too many bullets

  • Tony DeMaria

Respectable game considering the circumstances. I wouldn’t have expected to win even with LeVert. Time to get him back and beef up on some bottom feeders before our next difficult stretch.

  • MAZS

Can we get Caris back? It would be nice to play with a full squad sometime.

  • Wayman Britt

Even though lost today UM fought hard

  • MGoTweeter

Solid effort from the guys today. Definitely needed levert today to carry them thru those cold streaks.

    • Wayman Britt

      Will Caris even be back???

  • Chezaroo

Take care of upcoming schedule lightening, and beat Nebraska on road we’re okay.

  • Burke_Does_Work

I believe kenpom called for an 11 point Iowa victory…

    • bobohle

Ironically the 11-0 hole to start did us in.

  • bobohle

The turnovers did us in. We played better against them than Sparty. I think we will be all right going forward.

  • Chris De Sana

Just too many possessions where both Walton and Irvin do not value the ball, and too many trips where the ball never goes below the free throw line.

    • Barth Applefeld

Tonight it was the competition and being on the road as much as anything.

      • Chris De Sana

And on the road you have to value the ball

  • Cory

Regardless of the outcome, I like how the team played. We battled the whole time with some lesser used subs making a big impact. I really really like our team moving forward. I think Beilein does too whether Caris comes back or not.

  • jr_ewing93

Really tell us how walton and irvin didnt value you the ball please! These kids play there hearts out an all we do is complain about nothing. Iowa was good! Thats just it. Walton and Irvin played nice ball but I owa was just better.

  • jr_ewing93

Listen I notice how we react to games and the players performances. We jump on the players when they play good or bad. I love Caris but he isnt always the answer. I will leave you all with this, SMU! 2pts. Everybody have good days and bad days.
