Pre-Game Reading

  • Champswest

Donnal with 6 points and 2 boards.

  • gobluemd16

    Duncan’s J=PURE

  • Chris De Sana

Loved that cut by Duncan would have been a sweet alley

  • JimC

so did Zak Irvin play yet tonight?

    • Yes, he’s had several shifts.

      • JimC

        Thanks Dylan.
And I’m glad you and the crew are back for the new campaign.

    • ChipperFliet

Nice assist, but 0-5. Bit rusty. Looks a little slow

  • Wayman Britt

I guess the hedge out by the center on the screen is dead

  • jakelam2116

So I already have the same feeling I always had with Stauskas whenever Duncan rises to shoot. I know it’s super early and these are some open looks, but still.

  • gobluemd16

DJ in at the five. Good time to watch him

  • Champswest

IU is up 23 with 9:10 to go. Bielfeldt started and has 9 points, 2 rebounds, 4 steals and 1 block.

  • ChipperFliet

If this is the way it is going to be officiated all year, I am going to have a hard time watching.

    • MGoTweeter

Agree. This is awful. So many touch fouls that have zero impact on the actual play. Wish basketball refs would think along the lines of advantage like in hockey.

      • gobluemd16

Do you think this is an early-season movement or here to stay through conference play? I don’t know how this is better to watch, even though freedom of movement is what is being encouraged.

        • ChipperFliet

Early season BS adjustment for officials trying to do what they’re told. I’m sure there won’t be as many touch fouls as the year goes along. Let’s hope so anyways!

    • gobluemd16

Izzo would have a conniption fit if the refs were calling one of his games like this

  • gobluemd16

1 and 1 early for Elon both halves.

  • Chris De Sana

Great to see Hatch; hope he is doing well in the classroom

  • gobluemd16

    Absolutely love Wagner’s energy.

    • Champswest

Another Mitch McGary with the constant motor?

  • MGoTweeter

    Walton has been fantastic

    • gobluemd16

      Incredible

  • BigHouseBoyz

Cut me Mick, cut me. But the guard already did when you took that charge!

  • This is the best I’ve seen Derrick Walton play in a long time.

    • Chris De Sana

      Lets hope he stays healthy

    • Wayman Britt

      Yep

    • mirepoix

You definitely got your wish for some more aggression!

    • jemblue

Yes, he was in complete command out there.

  • Chris De Sana

The crowd would go wild if coach put Moe back in the game.

    • Mattski

Not exactly Nostradamus, but I was predicting in another thread that Wagner would be a huge crowd favorite.

      • bobohle

His energy is alot like McGary’s was

  • Cory

I feel a lot better going into the Xavier game than I did earlier today. That’s going to be a good challenge early in the year.

  • jemblue

Is this the last ESPN3 game? I don’t know if it was my connection or their feed but it was awful – the sound kept going out and the picture regularly became pixellated. Really hard to follow the game.

  • Champswest

According to ESPN, our 4 bigs (Donnal, Doyle, Wilson & Wagner) had a combined 14 points and 12 rebounds. I think we could live with those averages as a group.

    • BigHouseBoyz

My concern is our bigs missed too many easy shots down low against a smaller team. What happens when we play a B1G 10 front line?

      • bobohle

I agree but in the last 10 minutes they did much better.

  • bobohle

Our bigs played much better this game. I really like the energy Mo brings when he gets in the game. I think Walton’s ready. Zak was moving pretty well. His shot will come around. I hope Duncan can get that shot off against the BIG schools. What a smooth stroke.
