Report: Four-star forward Brendan Bailey picks Marquette

Class of 2016/2018 wing forward Brendan Bailey verbally committed to Marquette this evening.

Class of 2016/2018 wing forward Brendan Bailey verbally committed to Marquette this evening, according to Scout.com’s Evan Daniels.

Bailey chose Marquette over Michigan, Gonzaga, Utah and others. The Wolverines hosted the long wing forward on an official visit in September and were considered one of the finalists in his recruitment.

Bailey plans to take a two-year Mormon mission before enrolling at Marquette, making him similar to a class of 2018 prospect.

The Wolverines remain focused on class of 2017 recruiting with four-star guard Jordan Poole — the first prospect that Michigan offered in the class — expected to announce his decision on Friday. Michigan is considered a favorite in his recruitment after he took two visits to Ann Arbor over the last month, most recently last weekend.
