  • JiriB

This guys still did not figure how to play together yet. But we are young and it it would seem everyone will stay next year. It is going to be great

  • Burke_Does_Work

    Aubrey’s release is so quick

    • Burke_Does_Work

In the time it took to write this comment, Iowa scored a bucket

      • Corperryale

Nice stroke. But I think we need to credit the complex, zone-busting set that JB drew up there: shot fake, pass, shot fake, pass, shot fake, pass, shot fake, pass, shot fake, pass, shot fake, pass, shoot.

    • MGoTweeter

very similar releaseto a young steph curry

  • MGoTweeter

the bounces have not been kind

  • jakelam2116

Basically if Iowa doesn’t turn it over, they’ve got a good chance at scoring. No answers on D.

  • Dustin Stone

Theres the Kam we know haha…Can only laugh to keep from crying!

  • A2MIKE

    Hahahaha

  • Burke_Does_Work

I’d rather see a Spike v Oglesby fight than this game tbh

  • Burke_Does_Work

    Illinois take 2

  • jakelam2116

    Illinois redux, c’mon!

  • jakelam2116

Nope, no stops. Need some 4-pointers.

  • Burke_Does_Work

Kam made 3 terrible plays in the span of 1 min

    • scipiodreams80

I think it might have been 5 if you stretch that out just a bit.

  • Dustin Stone

    SECOND.CHANCE.POINTS.

  • jemblue

Aarrg! Kam, secure that board before you run out.

  • Wayman Britt

    Just don’t have the horses.

  • A2MIKE

    REBOUND

  • MGoTweeter

michigan just cant come up with any fiftyfifty balls

    • A2MIKE

All effort, Iowa has more tonight. And this team can’t win like that.

  • Matt Peck

we have one highly recruited player on the floor. Why not bring back Avery Queen

    • MGoTweeter

      huh?

      • Matt Peck

frustrated by the line-up…no one is producing

    • Wayman Britt

      What about Robbie Reid

      • Corperryale

        Dugan Fife perhaps? Pelinka?

  • Wayman Britt

It’s close, but MAAR and Dawkins have almost passed Zak

    • MGoTweeter

rahk hasbeen pretty bad tonight and dawkins is just a wide open shooterfor the most part

      • Wayman Britt

I realize and I agree, but what does Zak bring. He cannot shot and no assists,

        • MGoTweeter

he plays decent defense positionally and he boxes out.. not trying to argue cause im not crazy about any of their games tonight

      • Chris De Sana

For the most part we agree Dawkins is a shooter but he does show that he is willing to expand his game by getting into the paint for some mid range shots.

  • Matt Peck

Need to get it to 5

  • Matt Peck

    Has Donnal played much?

    • Wayman Britt

      Too soft

  • Burke_Does_Work

    Uthoff isn’t normally this good

  • MGoTweeter

my gosh spike what the heck are youdoing

    • Chris De Sana

Rough game for Spike; a lot of sloppy passes.

  • Wayman Britt

    Foot heal thyself for DW

  • Corperryale

Guys, I think this game is almost out of hand.

    • MGoTweeter

      just almost?

  • JiriB

We don’t use our big at all.

  • umnyc

its amazing how not ready Chapman is to play D1 ball.

    • Is it though? He was playing lowest division of Oregon HS BBall last year and didn’t play his junior year.

      • umnyc

True. Then maybe its more stunning how overrated he was by all the recruiting sites. He just looks painfully lost out there. Perhaps he should have redshirted. Who knows.

        • Matt Peck

Still seems way to early to pass judgment on his career, however what does it say about the bench that he is not red-shirting. Dylan was there a lot a positive buzz during fall practice about his play…any reason he didn’t redhirt

          • Corperryale

I recall he “graded out as a rotation player”. He didn’t look THAT bad early on, and he looked good in Italy (arguably better than MAAR). By the time it was clear he was pretty lost, it was probably too late to RS. I dunno, I just hope he keeps his spirits up. They need all hands on deck this season, anyway. If DJ were healthy I would burn his RS too.

          • scipiodreams80

He has to commit to Sanderson in the offseason and eat, breathe, and sleep basketball all summer – learning the sets and the defenses, and getting tons of shots up. If he does that, I believe it’s all there for him. But he’s got to both stay mentally strong and, at the same time, recognize just how much work he needs to put in.

  • Corperryale

You know, when I see MAAR bringing the ball up court with his speed and his handles, I see a guy who could become a cocky do-everything, take-charge guard a la TB, Caris or at least Manny. I think someone just needs to tell him that he’s the man of the house now. I dunno, maybe too early to tell.

    • Chris De Sana

He pretty much deferred to Spike all night, which I did not understand.

    • JohnNavarreIsMyHero

MAAR needs to push the issue. He neutralizes himself by just deferring. The kid can beat people to the net and should be doing it all the time.

  • MGoTweeter

great example of the issue tonight right there. if doyle goes and gets thatpass, he turns and has a dunk instead he waits and its nearly stolen. michigan just hadnot gone after the ball at all tonight

  • Skip

I dont think they have a player on the florr who can play division I ball

  • Wayman Britt

What is Irvin’s shooting % tonight? must be around 20%

  • MGoTweeter

about as disappointing a performance as we have seen all year. its one thing to miss shots or get beat by better players, its a completely different thing to not show up. i really cant remember one fifty fifty ball that michigan beat iowa for. add in some ridiculous turnovers and complete mental lapses on D, and michigan got what it deserved tonight.

    • A2MIKE

Sad part is this game was a “must win”

    • JohnNavarreIsMyHero

I was very surprised by the performance (how bad it was). Must win game and we came out with little intensity, effort, or focus. For a team that was proving everyone wrong, this was a complete no-show. Very upsetting to see to say the least.

  • A2MIKE

I know we don’t know the context, but Walton and LeVert giggling at the end doesn’t sit well with me. Maybe I am overreacting, but that shows poor leadership.

    • JiriB

Agreed I seen it also. Don’t like it. This team needs to be together all the way!

    • MGoTweeter

yea i saw that. if they were playing in the game, it would probably bother me but still tough to judge without context. the fact that they are out for awhile and not playing, it doesnt bother me at all

  • Chris De Sana

Was anyone else shocked that we basically never changed strategy? On offense the guards passing the ball back and forth while the other three players rarely moved and on defense not a single minute of two BIG play to help keep Iowa from turning the game into a dunk contest.

    • MGoTweeter

i thought they changed up. first half they tried to ballscreen the zone and go high post with the bigs. secondhalf they tried to get the guards in the high post andattack off the wings. none of it worked very well, but i think the issues were with the players, not the strategy.

      • Chris De Sana

How often did we feed the high post, even if the ball got kicked back out?

        • MGoTweeter

like i said, none of it was very succesful. but they did try different strategies

  • Skippy

Im not sure how many minutes doyle played, but zero rebounds seems impossible.

  • Skippy

We are truly clueless offensively when facing 2-3. Empty passes for 28 seconds, 3 point chuck the result
