ESPN analysts Jay Bilas, Seth Greenberg and Jay Williams met with local media in Ann Arbor to preview College GameDay.

The three had mixed opinions about whether Michigan can make the NCAA tournament but expressed how impressed they’ve been with John Beilein and the Michigan program.

Jay Williams–what a marvelous player he was in college. One of the few Duke players I could ever abide.

    • Steve2081

He’s also the only one of the 3 Gameday guys with a positive IQ.

What? Jay Bilas (who I don’t always agree with) has about has high an IQ as any commentator out there.

      • MAZS

I disagree. He is an ACC apologist–and when he gets together with Greenberg, they are insufferable– it is ACC all the time. Once Bilas got over the Amaker firing, he has been quite fair to us.

        • Steve2081

What does being fair with us have to do with Bilas being a moron who has nothing intelligent to say?

          • MAZS

He forgot more basketball than almost everyone else on the air. Low bar–but true.

I just want to say that despite this being a down season, you guys here at UMHoops are doing a great job. Keep it up!

  • robpollard

Mathematically, yes UM can still make it. Realistically, no.

I just hope this game is close. That’s possible assuming Doyle, Irvin, Spike (and whoever else) is completely over that respiratory bug that was going around.

But if they have to roll out that lineup of MAAR, Donnal, Chapman, Lonergan and Dakich that they did against Rutgers, for any amount of time? It will be a 30+ differential game.

All that said, I’m looking forward to the game. I’ve been really impressed with MAAR, Doyle and Dawkins and hope everyone keeps competing hard. And hit some of those wide-open threes, for pete’s sake!
