Michigan is headed back to New York City next season.

According to a report by the Chicago Tribune, the Wolverines will face Penn State at Madison Square Garden on January 30th, 2016 as part of ‘Big Ten Day’, a day-night doubleheader featuring a hockey and basketball matchup between both schools.

The games will be announced on Tuesday afternoon along with an announcement that the Big Ten Tournament will be played at Madison Square Garden in 2018. The 2018 conference tournament will also be played a week earlier to account for other tournaments in the area.

Michigan is 5-1 in those games.

This does nothing for me. I hate hockey and playing PSU at MSG seems like a massive waste of time.

The new layout for the site looks really nice though.

Dunno. Hockey is big in NYC, and both schools have big fanbases there.

Looks good, Dylan! Ads are much less annoying on the home page, a little more annoying on the interior. :) It’s just these four big “around the web” ads as you scroll to the comments that I find a little frustrating. . . hope that you are starting to earn enough to make this a solid enterprise, though. Also hope you are planning a fund drive in the aftermath, and will look forward to forwarding my small token.

Great new layout! Question though, who loses the home game? I will be irate if we lose the basketball home game, but I imagine each school will lose one.

    • Great question. I suspect we’ll find out the details when things are announced later this afternoon.
