Michigan will look to shake off the cobwebs from Tuesday’s loss to Villanova as it hosts Nicholls State this afternoon. The Wolverines and Colonels are set to tip off at 4:00 p.m. from the Crisler Center with the game broadcast online by BTN-Plus. Pregame Reading:

  • No DJ Wilson or Derrick Walton today. Wilson is on crutches (knee), Walton has an ankle injury.

    • Walton looks like he has a boot on his left foot.

      • DingoBlue

Crutches and a boot would make me worried about them returning to the team anytime soon….

        • Should find out after the game. A boot can be precautionary as well.

          • DingoBlue

Will look forward to the report! Hopefully neither is too serious.

  • HAIL

Do you have to pay for BTN Plus?

    • Yep.

      • AADave

Didn’t see your reply. Thanks for the link. I doubt I’ll want to shell out extra money for an isolated game though. Maybe regular BTN should be called BTN minus.

  • AADave

How do you get BTN plus? It’s very annoying to be paying high prices for a premium cable package that doesn’t include all the Michigan basketball games.

    • hailtoyourvictor

Right?? My cable package has 5 channels for BTN games, but they usually just show one game on all 5 channels. Meanwhile, BTN+ games aren’t shown on any of them. Very, very annoying.

  • Rampant Wolverine

Dylan, do you think Wilson on crutches is a prelude to a medical RS for him?

    • It could be possible… Will have to see. I think they could still use him this year…

  • hailtoyourvictor

I thought there was a free link posted here the last time Michigan played on BTN+

  • bob

Excited to see if Rahkman can get going, should be able to play more than a 2 minute stretch with all the injuries.

  • MGoTweeter

hoping to see another step forward from the freshmen especially chatman and doyle. Let’s Go Blue!

  • HAIL

Does anyone have a free stream link?

  • Jon Pence

For those interested, live tempo-based stats for Michigan/Nicholls State http://www.scacchoops.com/nicholls-state-at-michigan-basketball-live-stats-11292014

    • MrLG

Thanks Jon, love the live stats.

  • Those corner threes…. Great to see Chatman get off to a nice start with a triple and a backdoor cut. UM leads 11-4 early.

  • Tyler Carter

    LIVE STREAM http://www.wiz1.net/channel56

Wait until the countdown runs down, cancel a couple dialogue boxes and presto. Worked for me anyway.

    • bob

      THANK YOU

      • Tyler Carter

Not sure if it’s an issue with the broadcast or the stream feed, but there are no screen graphics (clock, score, etc…)

    • A2JD

No luck loading for me. If anyone else finds a link, please post.

  • Cory

Looks like Chatman is gaining more confidence with each game. Great to see.

  • Muhammad Ali Abdur-Rahkman checking into the game… Great opportunity for him today with Walton out.

  • GregGoBlue

What more does Ricky Doyle need to do to start? Gives us so much more than Donnal, and has done so consistently.

I think he’ll be starting come B1G season.

    • Say what?

    • NorthernBlue

One advantage is Donnall being in earlier can take away that early foul that would completely take Ricky out of his rhythm. At this point, it does seem more likely that Ricky is going to need to play the end of games so having him conserve some of those fouls isn’t a terrible idea, as young bigs tend to foul a lot. Also, anything Donnall can give you is a bonus. He is kind of the new Zack Gibson in that sense.

    • Corperryale

Inclined to agree, I think it probably has to do with Donnal’s seniority within the system — which appears to be a big thing for John Beilein. But Doyle does need to work on his rebounding.

  • kam

MAAR. take one dribble and shoot a 15 footer.. 3s aren’t your shot yet buddy ahha

    • Think it was an alright shot… Catch and shoot off the kick… Beilein wants them to take those.

  • HAIL

    L3V3RT

  • Spike Albrecht has three steals in 12 minutes… Michigan jumping passing lanes with ease.

  • kam

RANDY PETERS WOULDA DUNKED THAT AND1. come on caris

  • Justin Harbin

Ricky Doyle definitely reminds me of a poor mans Mitch no question. Love it

  • kam

    wow caris

  • Tyler Carter

    Albrecht charge streak continues

    • Steve2081

      That one was a gift.

  • rlcBlue

Watching Bucky Battle 4 Atlantis yesterday, I listened to Jay Bilas rhetorically asking “Who has a better backup point guard than Wisconsin?”

    My first reaction: Michigan does.
My second reaction: Stop being a homer.
My third reaction: Well, Kentucky does (the answer Bilas arrived at eventually).
My fourth reaction: Hell, Spike is as good as Bronson Koenig.

  • kam

    kam what was that

    • Steve2081

Stop talking in the 3rd person! :)

      • kam

        haha

  • geoffclarke

I could hear coach yelling at Kam from the upper level. Bielfeldt gave him a pat on the back.

  • Tyler Carter

Anyone watching on a legit BTN+ feed, is there a score/clock graphic on the screen?

    • kam

      i am.. No there isn’t.

  • Tyler Carter

Looked like Doyle just chucked it at the backboard and it fell, but if that’s a real shot that can be consistent, look out.

    • kam

i think it was a real move.. hook shot.

  • geoffclarke

    LeVert feeling it.

  • Tyler Carter

LeVert passes on the open three, eats some clock, then buries a contested three.

  • Corperryale

Spike is playing admirably, not missing a beat in Walton’s absence. Anyone who says he’s a defensive liability must not consider steals or charges taken as defence.

It would be nice if the 10 bucks I paid for BTN Plus would cover more than just one regular season game and one exhibition. I mean, would it kill them to throw NJIT and Coppin State in there? (They also need to clean the lens on the baseline camera.)

  • Tyler Carter

    Via Wikipedia: Terry Mills
    Listed height: 6’10”
    Listed weight: 230

    I’m calling shenanigans.

    • Steve2081

Your declaration of shenanigans is just. EVERYONE GRAB A BROOM!

      • Tyler Carter

As long as I don’t have to go after Terry Mills with it, I’ll partake.

    • A2JD

That was his playing weight. More likely at Michigan and not in the NBA. He already had a little George Forman in him by his Pistons days.

  • Michigan 1.61 PPP, Nicholls .61 PPP.. One of the ugliest half time boxes in a while.

    • Corperryale

Ugly? I wouldn’t have it any other way!

      • Ha… well ugly in terms of just how much of a blowout it is.

  • HAIL

Levert can’t miss from 3 this game

  • Burke_Does_Work

Rebounding still a cause for concern. Doyle isn’t snatching the ball out of the air when it gets to him, instead he tips it around and lets the other team have a chance for offensive rebounds.

  • Tyler Carter

Man this offense is exciting against a 0-3 mid-major. Hope the youngsters can gain some confidence in the last 15 minutes.

  • kam

    Kam is slowly learning

  • HAIL

Hopefully Kam’s jumpshot can start falling now

  • Five Wolverines in double figures in this game, previous season high was three.

  • kam

    ricky with the hook!

  • kam

dawinks can defend and shoot. i wish he’d play more.

    • rlcBlue

daWinks can score with his eyes closed ;)

  • Tyler Carter

Great to see these guys competing for playing time. Dawkins had a great defensive possession and was rewarded with an open 3.

  • Tyler Carter

Love this lineup. Let’s see how they do.

    • Tyler Carter

Like seeing Bielfeldt with these guys. Still getting thrown into the “low-major” fire, but with a little bit of experience to run the system.

  • kam

    struggling.

  • kam

    Nice move Dawkins!

  • jakelam2116

For someone like me who didn’t watch … what (if there is any) is the biggest takeaway from this game? And, of course, what’s the seriousness of Walton’s injury?
