Michigan could of really used Horford in this game. It was painful seeing Donall on the floor. He is so soft and doesn’t contribute in anyway. You don’t have to score, but he needs to be tougher and really fight for rebounds and play better defense. He was a complete liability on the floor.

Can we just agree to not complain about not having Horford anymore this year? Yes, our bigs are young. Yes, it’s a work in progress. Yes, it hurt our team that Horford is gone.

All true. But the kid wanted out, for whatever reason. And he complained about the best coaching staff in the country on the way out, I’m done with him.

We are fine without Horford. If Donnal makes the FTs or kicks it out to Spike, we win this game. In the end, we came up just short in a game we probably should have won.

We are already progressing as a team. Doyle and Donnal need to be smarter with fouls. They have taken way too many bad fouls (reaching and fouling after a missed shot or touch fouls.)

If Doyle hadn’t picked up that foul after he missed his shot, he stays in and that open 3 for Nova never happens because we don’t need to sag off and help like we had to for Bielfeldt.

Why is it that people think Horford would have been any better in the game, what did he ever show that would give that idea. I think he would have been destroyed out there.

Horford has done well so far with Florida; playing 30 or so minutes per game, and producing at a decent rate. I agree with John (below) that we’re fine without him, but there’s no doubt that he’d have helped last night.

And Max put up 18 points against inferior competition also.

Yea putting up 17 against Miami is really cupcake city. Give me a break

          • jakerblue

right, I forgot what a basketball powerhouse Miami is

Only ranked two spots below us on kenpom, actually. I’m annoyed with Horford, but let’s let him play a few more games before we declare that he’s just the same guy he was at Michigan.

FWIW, I’m skeptical and don’t expect him to have a fantastic year, but we will see.

          • itsjustaherb

You obviously don’t follow basketball too well. Miami is a top 15 team this year.

          • jakerblue

only ranked because they beat an over rated injury ridden UF team

          • jakerblue

and it’s not like Miami has anybody who could match up to Horford in size, they may have a 7 footer but he’s lighter than Jon. Ochefu would have owned him.
