Video: John Beilein reflects on season, talks NBA decisions

John Beilein was available to speak with the media on Wednesday to cap off the 2013-2014 Michigan basketball season. The coach reflected on the season, its highs and lows and various turning points. Beilein also touched on a number of subjects, from the block/charge rule to Michigan players putting their names into the NBA draft to what he’s looking for from returning Wolverines like Derrick Walton and Zak Irvin. Interesting comments on Donnal–seems high on him. Didn’t know that both he and Walton were young 18s; very cool. Makes sense that Beilein watches and learns from the NBA–prospective players take note.

I’m probably the only one, but I always LOVED the way drawing charges affected the game, and the idea that it was such an art: reach your spot, become stationary, etc. I’m not really sure why they wanted to change it in the first place–why not just work to call them correctly?

He seemed soooo relaxed. I think we fans got to see the real Beilein there. Do you agree? How many folks were in the audience? All regulars with whom the coach is comfortable?
