UM Hoops Podcast 2.3: Ace Anbender and Bucky’s Fifth Quarter

Dave Merritt and I reunited to record the first UMHoops Podcast of the Big Ten season. Michigan has gotten off to a terrific start in conference play. After starting 4-0, the Wolverines travel to Madison to take on Wisconsin. Joining me and Dave today: Ace Anbender of MGoBlog and Phil Mitten of Bucky’s Fifth Quarter, a Wisconsin blog.

  • Ace joins us first to talk about Michigan’s progress to this point in the season. We touch upon the Wolverines’ defensive issues, as well as their surprisingly effective offense. We even talk about the music selection at the Crisler Center.
  • Later, Phil hops on to talk Wisconsin. He discusses his takeaways from Wisconsin’s loss at Indiana, its first of the season. Phil addresses some of the Badgers’ defensive issues and also dives in to the unique post-up-centered offense they run. Good, informative stuff.
  • Finally, Dave and I talk a bit about gaining perspective on the season thus far, what Zak Irvin’s role on the team will look like as conference play goes on, and more.

The music was all Outkast, in honor of their scheduled appearance at Coachella. In order: Chonkyfire, Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik, Spaghetti Junction, ATLiens
