University of Michigan men’s basketball head coach John Beilein announced today (Tuesday, Nov. 12) that fifth-year senior Jordan Morgan (Detroit, Mich./University of Detroit Jesuit), senior/junior Jon Horford (Grand Ledge, Mich./Grand Ledge HS) and sophomore Glenn Robinson III (St. John, Ind./Lake Central HS) have been selected as team captains for the 2013-14 season. It is just the ninth time in program history the Wolverines have had three or more captains.

Morgan, who was a member for the All-Big Ten Defensive team last season, has started 95 of his 106 career games and currently ranks tied for 35th all-time with 536 career rebounds. He needs just 260 points to become the 48th Wolverine to eclipse 1,000 for a career. Graduating last season with a degree in industrial engineering, Morgan is currently pursuing a master’s degree in manufacturing engineering.

Horford has played in 71 career games and is averaging 2.5 points and 2.4 rebounds per game. He was awarded the Travis Conlan Sportsmanship Award last season.

Robinson, who is just the fourth sophomore to earn U-M’s captaincy, was a 2013-14 preseason All-Big Ten selection after earning All-Freshman team and All-Big Ten honorable mention last season. He has played in 40 career games and averages 11.1 points and 5.5 rebounds per game.
