Watch summer highlights of class of 2014 Michigan commitment Ricky Doyle in the embedded media player below.

  • Northern Blue

Encouraging video. Love his length, touch, activity level and overall skill level. Body and athleticism are coming along, looks much more fluid. Still beasting on size, but the motor and fundamentals are there. Think he will be a 2 or 3 year starter in the middle that is very solid down the road.

  • Champswest

Impressive. He has a good shot and range for a big man. I like how he looks to dunk when he gets the ball down low. Could be able to contribute right away.

  • repole

Love the offensive skill set, reminds me a bit of Al Jefferson from his younger days. I don’t expect much defensively, I think the make or break part of his game is whether he can rebound well at the college level.

  • dafug

Good video. Seems like the type of player Wisconsin has won with for years. Big and skilled with range on his jumper. Looking forward to watching him develop

    • Fab 5 Legends

exactly my thought…looks like a solid wisco type player….I can see him developing his skills as a senior putting some more muscles and a contributer off the bench for the wolverines as a freshmen

    • A2JD

He reminds me of the classic Gene Keady-big at Purdue. Steve Scheffler, Brian Cardinal, Brad Miller. It’s hard to tell how good he is vs. that competition but you can see that his footwork and touch is very good. I think he also has a little more lift than he did last summer.

ESPN put us in top 25 for ’14 class recruiting after Chatman signed

I think Ricky Doyle will be top 100 player after his senior year is complete

    • Tough part for Ricky is exposure. He’ll be at City of Palms but other than that national guys won’t see much of him.

    • Fab 5 Legends

gotcha thanks, ya I guess not really being on AAU circuit kind of hurts him…I feel like he has the skill set to be a top 100 player…but that could be even better for Beilein – getting another diamond in the rough…

    • Tyrell

Wow, I know it is still very early for these rankings and I imagine our commits will get better over the course of their senior year of high school basketball and make our 2014 class even better, but has anyone seen the some of the colleges in front of us? I can’t believe Northwestern is on this list!

Coaches like Izzo, Pitino, and Calipari have learned to follow JB around and offer the same kids, you would think the recruiting services would realize he has a better eye than all of them…

  • Kenny

Wide body and polished game, will play as a true frosh. This will relieve much of the concern that Wilson should red-shirt and Chatman need bulk up for playing 4.

    • Tyrell

If a player is redshirted as a freshman does that count as one of the 13 scholarships for that seasons team?

      • Kenny

yes. it does court towards the scholarship.
