Report: Four-star forward Donte Grantham sets Michigan official visit

First reported by Scout.com’s Brian Snow, class of 2014 forward Donte Grantham will take a Michigan official visit the weekend of September 6th.

Grantham will be in town for Michigan’s football night game against Notre Dame along with fellow 2014 prospect Kameron Chatman.

Grantham is a four-star prospect rated 85th in class of 2014. The Martinsburg, WV native is playing a post-graduate season Hargrave Academy in Virginia. He holds offers from West Virginia, Texas, DePaul, UConn, VCU, Rutgers, Miami, Penn State, Cincinnati and many others.

Grantham is described as a 6-foot-8 face up four man with the ability to shoot the three or put the ball on the floor. While he doesn’t currently hold a scholarship offer due to John Beilein’s visit policy, an offer could be likely for Grantham when he visits Ann Arbor.

Sounds like a great GRIII replacement!

He’s got some big offers…I’m glad to see we’re getting him on campus.

FWIW, Sam Webb said on WTKA this morning that if Bluiett wants to reschedule his official for the ND weekend (assuming he doesn’t commit to UCLA this weekend), there is no guarantee that UM would agree to it. They already have two officials (Chatman and Grantham) and lots of other prospects visiting (including Coleman, who may commit) for ND. They don’t want to spread themselves too thin and not give the proper time and attention, so they might prefer having Bluiett visit at a later date.

Interesting. I really want Bluiett in the class. Hopefully such a message (they’d rather he not come to the ND game) doesn’t come off the wrong way to him.

I agree. Bluiett is my top recruit for 2014 although Bolden may be close.

Does Bolden have a scheduled official yet? Are we a serious player with him?

This kid doesn’t seem 6’8″ but the highlights make him look like a perfect 3 man. Like the athleticism, his form on his shot looks good.
Hope he gets an offer and jumps on it

One way to evaluate a recruit is to look what other teams are recruiting him (top teams top recruit), with Grantham he does have offers from other good teams with good coaches.

Has Beilein even seen the kid? Or is he being recruited by the assistants?

    • TKWolverine

I’m pretty sure Beilein saw him in late July after he came back from Russia.
