Well it’s time to look ahead. Beilein has a track record of changing and reacting, here is his to do list for this summer:

    1. Talk to current and former top defensive coaches to pick their brains. Continue to develop his knowledge of teaching defensive. Pick up some new defensive drills.
    2. Spend a lot of time in Indiana that state is loaded with talent and it has served him well in the past. Make Jeff comb that state. Also, take many road trips up to Milwaukee to convince Looney to join UM.
    3. Change his recruiting a little bit to get at least one top defensive player every other year. Be willing to give a little if a player cannot shoot the 3 or lacks offensive skills, but is defensively aggressive, quick and a little nasty.
    4. Develop a succession plan for his coaching staff. It won’t be long before one of them has their own team. Start sourcing, evaluating and recruiting his next assistant coach(s).

    Chills. Emotion. Pride. Appreciation.

That hype video did it’s job. What a fantastic look back at this dream season. Wish I could thank all of the players and coaches for representing Michigan with class and bringing UM basketball back to the pinnacle of the college basketball world.

That’s a really good video, and I thought it was pretty cute how they spliced in some Dark Knight Returns and Iron Man 3 soundtrack/lines– gave a kind of sweet “earnest teenage dude” vibe to the thing that really matched my sense of the young team this year.

I just shed a few tears, not going to lie. That was legitimately one of the best videos I have ever watched, sports related or not.

Great video, great team. I am so grateful to have had the opportunity to watch and root for these wonderful young men and coaches. They’ve put the program back on the map the past three years and I am excited for the future. I can’t wait to show this video to my kids tonight.
