Video: John Beilein, Trey Burke and Tim Hardaway Jr. preview Michigan State

John Beilein joined Michigan’s backcourt for media availability this afternoon to talk about the Wolverines’ upcoming top-10 match-up with Michigan State in East Lansing. All three touched on how the basketball rivalry between Michigan State and Michigan has grown throughout the past couple of years and the importance of this particular match-up when it comes to the Big Ten standings. Beilein said the coaching staff is still in wait-and-see mode on whether or not Jordan Morgan will be able to play. He has been rehabbing but the staff was concerned about his lack of mobility on Friday after going through most of practice Thursday.

poor Colton. For some reason, I was the only one who liked him. Pretty sure coach was saying that in a good natured way, though, I think,

Interesting side note: don’t you think Colton would get some minutes at the 4 this year?

Very Rarely. Unless the others team 4 was too quick for our bigs to cover for 5 or ten minutes a game.

I like Hardaway’s line “Gonna take the heart of Zack Novak” to win. A little highlight clip of Novak at MSU two years ago raining treys and his intensity might be enough to inspire the troops. I think for us to win Tim is going to have to play like he has the last two games and Trey will have to be patient. Also, would love to get out in transition, rather than get banged around by MSU in the halfcourt. 20 minutes out of Morgan would be really nice, and if hes healthy i think we see a lot of 2 big linueps when both payne and nix are in.
