Nice win. I like that everybody got quality minutes, will help in future games. I hope Tim is okay and no concussion.

I just noticed that Chandler White is wearing a Michigan shirt in his Twitter avatar.

Fortunate enough to live in Brooklyn to see this team play a few times this year and I gotta say, they looked really talented and methodical. At no point during either game did it feel like Michigan wasn’t in control and they just physically dominated two teams with a lot of size. It wasn’t really a neutral court either game though, vs K-State it was 90% Wolverine fans – which I have to say was a lot of fun.

A little worrisome that our bigs are still struggling. They all have shaky hands and a lot of trouble finishing down low. And 11 fouls between the three of them in 37 minutes of PT? How the heck does that happen? It’s not like K-State was that big and physical inside.

I am not sure that I would call the fouls a reason for struggling in this game. Morgan committed a completely terrible first foul, but he also got called for a block that was about as close as you can get to a charge. Also his fourth foul was just an unfortunate situation off a bad bounce, nothing that he could do about it. McGary is obviously struggling with fouls but that is to be expected with an extremely high energy 6’10, 260 pound freshman. You live with the bad so you get the good. Horford is unfortunately still too small and struggles to move his feet. But find me a team in the country that does not have issues with their third string center.

All that said, I thought those guys played really well as a group today. K-State’s entire offense was based off getting rebounds. Our bigs were a big reason why they struggled to score. Even when those guys did not get the rebound they neutralized their men and allowed our guards to crash the glass. On top of that, both Horford and McGary did a great job on posting up and finishing off pure post-ups.

Honestly, I am more worried about Burke than I am about the big men right now.

OT: watching wisky v. Creighton. And I gotta say that I am not sure that Doug McDermott is not just a more in shape Evan Smotrycz. They both are 6’9 forwards who are unathletic, skilled and great shooters. I did not pay a lot of attention to McDermott last season, but watching him get abused on defense by Ryan Evans of all people, says a lot.

Really good game on nbcsports right now. Mizzu v Louisville. Louisville is probably the most complete team I have seen this year
