Drake Harris commits to Michigan State

harrisprofile052411[1]2014 guard/wide receiver Drake Harris announced his intentions to attend Michigan State this evening. Harris, who plans to play both football and basketball in college, announced his decision at a press conference at Grand Rapids Christian High School.

Harris had narrowed his list to three finalists, Michigan State, Michigan and Notre Dame, before settling on the Spartans. While Harris had an official offer from Michigan on the gridiron, added after a very impressive performance at Michigan’s football camp, basketball coach John Beilein never formally extended an offer.

John Beilein has extended three official scholarship offers to class of 2014 prospects at this juncture; to Devin Booker, Keita Bates-Diop and Trevon Bluiett.

Harris is one of the top prospects in the state of Michigan, in both sports, but is thought to have greater potential on the football field where his size and athleticism has game changing ability at the next level.

Former Michigan recruiting target, 2013 Flint guard Monte Morris is also off the board. Morris verbally committed to Iowa State this evening in front of friends and family at Flint Beecher High School.
