2015 East Chicago Central point guard Hyron Edwards already holds scholarship offers from Purdue and Indiana but the Michigan staff and a host of other high major programs have been watching him closely. Edwards, recently ranked 12th nationally by ESPN.com, is one of the top young prospects in the Midwest and is planning an upcoming visit to Michigan. Talk about your performance in your team’s win just now? 

I played pretty good… I think I played pretty great. I’m a little rusty because I didn’t play all last week, but I think I did good.”

What are your biggest strengths and weaknesses?
My strengths are ball handling and getting to the hole, and my weakness is getting my probably getting my jump shot better.”

How tall are you and how much do you weigh now?
I’m about 5-foot-11 … 6-foot. I weigh 156 pounds right now.”

What’s the No. 1 thing you’ve been working on the past few months?
Getting in the gym, shooting a lot and getting to the weight room.”

What schools do you have recruiting you right now, and what schools have given you an offer?
Indiana, Purdue, Michigan, Michigan State, Illinois, Notre Dame just called and the Missouri Tigers just called. Indiana and Purdue have offered me.”

Are you leaning toward any schools right now? Do you have any favorites?
No. I like them all so far.”

What coaches have you been talking to from Michigan and what have they been telling you?
Coach Jordan. I like Coach Jordan. He’s talking about my strength in ball handling, passing and shooting. He just likes my overall game.”

Have you visited Ann Arbor yet?
No, not yet.”

Are you planning on making a trip to the campus anytime soon?
I’m planning on going in June to the [College Practice Camp].”

What other camps will you be attending this summer?
Adidas Nations, I’m going to be playing up with the 2014 team.”
