Im staring to get a good feeling about McGary.  Hope he decides soon.

Man after listening to Sam Webbs podcast…i am super PUMPED! Im hoping for an early christmas present in the form of a 6″11 center. The way he describes the possibility of McGary, GRIII, Tim Hardaway Jr, Trey Burke and Brundige made me dream of a 30 win season

If mcgray comes on board, this will easily be the best class since fisher’s 1995 class with tractor trailer and bullock. Albert white was a stud too before he Tate forciered out of the program.

  • SamGoBlue

Whether or not this is good news or not is up for debate, but Chris Balas is now reporting that McGary will decide within a month:!/Balas_Wolverine

Don’t get your hopes up for McGary.  It could happen, but then again, maybe not.

Don’t get me wrong Duke is a good school and has a great basketball program, but here is five reasons UM would be a better school for Mr. Mitch McGary.

Five Reasons Mitch should pick UM
    1. Beilein will prepare him better for the next level, UM is better at teaching big man than Duke
    2. He would be the man at UM, not just another All American of many at Duke
    3. UM is better academically and has better alumni connections
    4. Students, fans and media members would love him more than Dukies
    5. University of Michigan is closer to home

    • kennyYe

      Two more reasons
      1. Novak
      2. Little Dog

Although I agree with four of your points, #3 simply isn’t  true. Duke is one of the best academic institutions in the world, not that M isn’t, but to say that M is superior to Duke academically simply is not true. That being said, the discrepancy between the 2 schools academically is not large enough to compensate for the four other factors in my opinion.

Here IS five reasons UM would be better…???

Excellent news Dylan!  Honestly I’m utterly surprised by how quickly he seems to have come away from it all.  Wishing him all the best in his ongoing recovery as always.

If McGary’s recruitment is truly down to Duke and Michigan, then this
could be another chapter in the quick renewal of a big time rivalry:

    1. Our victory over them in 2008 showed that we were competitive again.

    2. The Fab Five documentary brought the rivalry back to the forefront of the media and fans.

    3. Two weeks later we played Duke in the second round of the 2011 tournament and lost by one point

    4. Now, the #3 recruit in the class of 2012 is choosing between the two?

    5. Michigan and Duke will square off in the second round of the Maui Invitational…

    oh yes.

  • Daddyoj30

lol… its funny remember when Duke wanted C-Webb Badly and recruited him hard… I Think the blue devils are gonna loose out on this top flight big man also….

    Hail To The Victors

      No I’m not 50. :)

Congratulations to Austin Hatch on his rehabilitation. Keep working.

        Go Blue !!!

  • GregGoBlue

Chris Balas on rivals just posted a GUSHINGLY positive report from Michigan “insiders” on our chances with McGary. I for one am a bit skeptical, given that he still has some time before his decision and that the media is still reeling from the coaches just putting the full court press on McGary and his parents. So take it with a grain of salt, but if we don’t land McGary it certainly won’t be for lack of effort.

    • JBlair52

I’m telling you, lynnmarie on Crisler Corner is as close to an “insider” as anyone outside of the McGary family.  She said that Coach B will be very happy in a couple weeks (re: McGary).  I believe her as a source more than anyone else…just saying.  I think we’ll all be happy.  McGary likes Michigan, his aau coach likes Michigan, it’s closer to home, GRobIII and Novak will be there, the style is good for him…I think his parents are unsure and his HS coach or something likes Duke.  We’re in a good spot

  • A2JD

I really don’t think there’s a parent or a set of parents that wouldn’t like Coach Beilein.  He seems like a genuine, smart, positive, caring and stand-up guy.
I’m not saying Coach K isn’t those things but he seems to have a little more slickness to him.  Not on a Calipari-level but I think there may be a smidge of used-car salesman in him.

  • A2JD

Novak won’t be there unless he stays on in some sort of coaching capacity or (knock on wood that this doesn’t happen) gets injured before the season starts.

    • JBlair52

Right – sorry I meant Novak was recruiting him to Michigan

  • ????

bring him Chris Landrum II into one of these camps
