ANN ARBOR, Mich. — University of Michigan men’s basketball coach John Beilein announced today (Monday, Sept. 26) junior guard Jordan Dumars (Detroit, Mich./Detroit Country Day) has decided to leave the Wolverine program.

“Jordan has worked very hard the last two years to get back to the court,” said Beilein. “However, these injuries have not allowed him to play basketball at a level he expects. This has not been easy for him and I know he has thought long and hard about this decision. We will miss Jordan. He is a wonderful young man, with a very bright future.”

“Battling injuries the last two years has been very difficult on me,” said Dumars. “I love Michigan, I love this team and I love basketball, however I had to make this decision to move on. I am thankful for the opportunity that was given to me and appreciate all the help I have received. I will always be a Wolverine.”

After transferring from South Florida midway through his freshman season (2009-10), Dumars has not played in a game at Michigan, battling knee and shoulder injuries over the last two seasons.
