Recruiting Roundup: September 12th, 2011

glenrobinson[1]Glenn Robinson III took his official visit to Ann Arbor over the weekend. The 6-foot-6 senior got the full tour of Ann Arbor, including a stop at College Game Day and tweeted that the weekend was “probably the most fun [he’s] had in a long time”. Robinson was joined by his SYF Players AAU coach, Wayne Brumm, who is Mitch McGary’s AAU coach as well.

Michigan’s other 2012 commitment, wing guard Nick Stauskas, is scheduled to take his official visit to Ann Arbor on September 24th for Michigan’s game against San Diego St.

2013 commitments Zak Irvin, Derrick Walton and Mark Donnal were also in attendance Saturday night for Michigan’s win over Notre Dame. The trio certainly enjoyed their time on campus as Irvin tweeted that “NO ONE DOES IT LIKE MICHIGAN!!!” adding that he even got a hug from Erin Andrews and Skylar Diggins.

The Latest on Mitch McGary

Mitch McGary took official visits to North Carolina and Duke over the last several days and is now headed back to Brewster Academy. As one would expect, he reportedly enjoyed both trips ($), spending the middle of the week at Carolina and traveling to Durham over the weekend during Duke’s Hall of Fame induction ceremony.

The 6-foot-11 postgraduate has the ability to take more visits now that he is back at school but future visits have not been set in stone. McGary has already taken official visits to Michigan, North Carolina and Duke. Maryland, Florida and Kentucky round out his current list of six and the McGarys have indicated that Mitch plans to visit some if not all of those schools.

Drake Harris attended his second Michigan football game of the year, taking in the Wolverines thrilling victory under the lights. There has been plenty of speculation about Harris and Michigan State but getting Drake on campus for the first two weeks of the football season certainly speaks toward continued mutual interest.

Grant Evans, a 2014 guard from Wapahani, IN, plans to take an unofficial visit to Ann Arbor on Saturday for Michigan’s football game against Eastern Michigan. The under the radar guard recently visited Indiana and has future visits planned for Butler, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Purdue and Ball State.

Michigan is also pursuing 2015 Indiana standout Jalen Coleman. Coleman has offers from Indiana and Notre Dame along with interest from Illinois, Michigan, Michigan State and Ohio State.
