2011-2012 Season

Report: Michigan Expected to Face Arkansas During 2011-12 Season

arkansas_logo[1]ESPN’s Andy Katz is reporting that Michigan is likely to add Arkansas to its 2011-12 schedule. Katz notes that the Arkansas game is expected to be lined up sometime during the Big Ten season.

Arkansas went 18-12 (7-9 SEC) last season and will be playing its first season under former Missouri head coach Mike Anderson.

Michigan will also play in the Maui Invitational, a field which includes Duke, Kansas, Memphis, Georgetown, Tennessee, UCLA and Chaminade. The bracket for the Maui Invitational should be expected in the coming weeks.  The Wolverines will host Iowa State, Towson and Bradley while traveling to Virginia (Big Ten-ACC Challenge) and Oakland (at the Palace). All notes on next year’s schedule are maintained here.

Michigan’s schedule appears to be lacking the top flight marquee home games that we’ve seen in recent years, but still includes quality competition. Despite lacking blockbuster home games, the schedule is more balanced with solid high major opponents – home and away – and a loaded neutral Maui Invitational field.
